Re: Morgan County, Full Results from 9/26
Just a quick question: How was Schuerenberg scored 16th? He was going for third, on the lead lap, when he spun in turn one. Darland was taking the checkered, so the race was over. How is he put behind all the guys one lap down? Pending a restart, would he not have been the last car on the lead lap?

(Hunter)He Did not finish.
Billy, Great race night. I hope you guys did well. It was a blast as a participant hopefully all the fans enjoyed it. Already looking forward to next year. Lots of rumors floating around the pits. Can you let us know for sure what is your plan for next year. Sure hope it involves us non-wing guys. It could really grow into a great weekly show. Thanks again. Chad Branson #71 |
Re: Morgan County, Full Results from 9/26
What does that have to do with it? He completed more laps than all but about six cars. Isn't that how the finish of races are scored? There was no restart after his mishap, so how did he lose a lap (or more)?

Re: Morgan County, Full Results from 9/26
If Hunter was on the lead lap (which he was), I would think he would finish as the last car on the lead lap (which would've been around 7th - DD was on a tear).
But I also thought that if you caused a caution - ie, you spun - (whether it was on the initial restart, or with at least a lap down), you went to the tail. |
Re: Morgan County, Full Results from 9/26
:wink I was not saying anything other than answering Billy's question whether or not he finished. I don't know but if he did not complete the last lap doesn't that also put him one less lap than DD? Again not argueing. just asking

Darland was really the only one who completed 40 laps. Which means those cars a lap down really only completed 38. Hunter completed 39.

Re: Morgan County, Full Results from 9/26
Interesting thread this has turned into. In '99 I ran a WoO show at Joliet. Our iron block motor didn't have a chance against the Kinser's, Swindell's, etc., but we went for the experience and the hopes that we might slip into the back of the A, and live a life-long dream of going 4-abreast.
Well, we were running a strong next-to-last in the B-main and were one lap down when Dollansky spun bringing out the caution and the checkers (a few laps short of the scheduled amount of laps, we assumed due to time constraints). It seemed strange to me and the guy who was running ahead of me, I'll call him Duke, that Dollansky got the last transfer spot. Duke was still running, the first guy one lap down, when Dollansky brought out the yellow/checkered. The Outlaw officials weren't inclined to spend any time explaining it to me and Duke, and we kind of figured it was a ******** kind of deal since his name was Dollansky, and we were Schmuck and Soran. So, we watched from the stands as Dollansky and the rest of the regulars rolled around the track 4-abreast, and proceeded to shred for 30 laps without us. We drank our beer, signed a few autographs (a real ego booster), loaded up and headed home (had a flat tire on the trailer to add insult to injury). After giving it some thought though, since Dollandky was a lap ahead of us when the yellow checkered fell, we figured he would have gone to the back of the lead lap, and still been ahead of us. As should probably be the case in this fellows instance. |

Understood. I was just wondering if there was another way of looking at it.
They probably should have brought that up at the pay window, since it really doesn't do much now...thanks for jumping on here, though! Hope you made some money on the deal and want to schedule a couple for next year!! :) |

You have got to be Mother Effing kidding me!!!!!!! If that's the worst thing you guys saw at the racetrack then you are blind! How do you spin, TWICE and get your spot back? HORRIBLE rules. I've never seen anything like it! I will not be back. Stick to stock cars and mid-budget wing sprints. Cool racetrack............bad scorers.

Re: Morgan County, Full Results from 9/26
:doh:Jacksonville has always been if you spin on the intial start you get your spot back. No surprise there. So what if there scorers made one mistake, I have tried to score before, how easy do you think it would be to score 22 sprinters who you are unfamiliar with for 40 laps on a small little bullring with about 25 or 30 laps in a row green with lapping and racing going on every where?????
Over all great show and great talent there. Let us know Billy because all of us Non-wing guys really enjoy running with you. Hope you did well Friday. |
