Now What?
This is possibly the worst time of year for me. We just got back from Florida and the DirtCar Nationals, the weather here is colder up here in SW MI.... no more walking the beach..... no more Waffle House... no more racing - for awhile.
I have to wait until April and the USAC Midgets at Kokomo for my next fix. I am actually contemplating the Lucas Oil Late Models at Brownstown in late March. Once late April hits, the season will be in bloom up here. But until then..... such withdrawals. Oh, the humanity. :13: What is on the rest of the IOW fan dockets up this way for opening night? Please respond. Misery loves company. |
I'm not discouraging you from attending the late model race, but if you wait a week longer to head to Brownstown, you get the non wing sprints at the No Way Out 40. That may be my first race. If I can't make it for that, I think my first will be the USAC sprints at Lawrenceburg the following weekend.

Re: Now What?
At the risk of getting boiled alive for mentioning "ball sports", college basketball conference playoffs start soon, then America's Best Sporting Event, NCAA playoffs.
This has been one of the best seasons in my 60+ years, Top ten teams getting upset every week, lots of amazing freshmen. Glad I have DVR.... I like to exercise as I watch otherwise I'd be a useless blob of flab.... |
Re: Now What?
If the weather is decent I'll be at the Lucas Oil Late Model show at Brownstown, No Way Out 40 at Brownstown a week later and then USAC at Lawrenceburg on April 1.
|
To the OP check out the show in Mansfield the last Saturday in March. $5K to win for each 3 classes

Too bad it is the same day as the No Way Out 40 at Brownstown. I think this was noted in another thread a few weeks back. Unfortunately, for me, I cannot make either. BUT.... it also looks like they are going to repeat the show(s) on the TWO following Saturdays! 3/25, 4/1, AND 4/8! :18: https://www.facebook.com/MansfieldMotorSpeedway/ |
Re: Now What?
Come on out to Central PA the weekend of March 11 & 12. Sprint at Lincoln in the after noon, then over to Susquehanna for free open practice and then Sunday afternoon at Williams Grove for Opening Day 410 Sprints & Super Late Model practice.

Hoping for the best, of course. :6: |
Our racing family is looking forward to seeing all the great racing fans at the no way out 40 and the next weekend at the burg. Have fun and and enjoy all the great racing events this year. Thanks.

Got plenty of Waffle Houses here, lol.

Next week, it's Vegas baby. Non stop cheap flights.

Re: Now What?
It'll be DuQuoin for me on the 18th and then a WAR East show at Fayette County Speedway on April 1st. The No Way Out 40 would be sweet but i dunno if i can swing two weekends in a row and Brownstown is a good trek for me. We'll see how bad the itch is though!

Re: Now What?
Looks like first trip to Williams Grove at end of month on way to New York with my son. Will be my farthest track visit to the East.(out of about 130) Hope to hit the Joliet-Route 66 Thursday night gig at end of April also.

While I admit I'm really looking forward to screaming engines and burned alcohol fumes, what gets me through it is the best sport that doesn't require an engine. Hockey! Now as a HUGE fan I will say the season is too long (I will have made a few race's before they raise the cup) but it certainly fills the void as far as entertainment during the off season. The Stanley Cup playoffs are as intense as any competition there is, barring maybe bubble day at the speedway back when it meant something
