Sumar Classic Promoter

Who is promoting the Sumar Classic at Terre Haute in early April? I received a Track Enterprises schedule today and there was no mention of the Sumar on it.

On Track Enterprise's Facebook page, the Sumar is listed on their schedule.

You are absolutely correct Danny B., the Facebook schedule has the Sumar listed. However, the schedule that they sent accompanying our ticket renewal form makes no mention of the Sumar and the 2017 schedule on the TE website is devoid of any mention of the Sumar, as well.

Here's the schedule on the TE website:

My DuQuoin ticket renewal (received yesterday) says the races have been changed to Saturday night (ARCA) and Sunday afternoon (USAC Silver Crown). No specific times were given, but apparently the Silver Crown is a day race.

Hm, I sure hope what you received was a mistake... I was glad they were going back to the (of recent years) traditional Sunday night Silver Crown, Monday ARCA. The Track Enterprises website still says that. But it is odd about no mention of the champ cars at Terre Haute on April 3. I guess someone is else is promoting

There has been a partnership with them the last few years.

I don't believe that schedule is their full schedule. Just the ones they consider "specials"

I don't doubt what you say TRT but if that is the case I would seriously question TE's criteria for being one of their "specials".

Alright, to clear up any confusion the Sumar Classic 100 is set for Terre Haute on Sunday, April 2. Track Enterprises is still promoting that facility but it's a separate entity that has a full schedule, separate from the Track Enterprises one that is put out. It can be found at the Terre Haute website at www.terrehauteactiontrack.net.

Secondly, the DuQuoin dates have been changed back to the way they had been for many years. The Silver Crown race will be on Sunday, September 3 and the ARCA race will be on Monday, September 4. It wasn't really our decision as the fair wanted to have a concert again on Saturday night.

Sorry for any confusion.

Re: Sumar Classic Promoter

I just called Track Enterprises concerning the letter that was put in the renewals for tickets. It stated that the races had been changed to Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. That was an error. Last year the Silver Crown did run on Saturday night, but the date was not available because of a concert at the fairgrounds this year.
The Silver Crown race will be a Sunday night affair with hot laps at 5:00PM, while the ARCA race will be run on Labor Day (daytime race).
He said the Sumar Classic is on the Terre Haute website and it starts at 5:00PM (Terre Haute time).
So, basically my ticket renewal form showing Sept. 3rd (Sunday) is correct, but the letter that was also included is wrong. Hope this clarifies everything.

Personally I like the Sunday and Monday dates better. Labor Day at DuQuioin is tradition! Either way, I won't miss it!

Thanks Ron.

Our group like the Silver Crown Race and the ARCA stock car race to be run on Saturday and Sunday nights, respectively. I think the track is in better shape for the stock cars at night. Since we camp over at Rend Lake the whole week before Labor Day we can scoot for home on Labor Day Monday if they finish the racing on Sunday night. It is what it is. Some like Saturday-Sunday, some like Sunday Monday.
