WoO/All Stars incentive pays?

Does anyone know the series' invectives for running full time with WoO or the AllStars? Just curious

griffithracing 12/4/16 6:52 PM

The all stars at one time had a really good deal for full time travelers.... not sure if it is still intact or not.

motorhead748 12/4/16 7:35 PM

I'm not sure so don't quote me on this but I think you have to be a member to be eligible for the points fund. Also there is the tow money for the platinum members. Again I'm not sure but I think it's $500 per nite and there may be a past/defending champion bonus on top of that. this is for the WoO.

MIracing 12/4/16 10:13 PM

The All Stars also award tow money to a certain amount of teams based on points. I'm not sure what the pay actually is. They also have a pretty good points fund. All Stars they have a similar rule to WoO. You can not run a 360/410 race the day of an all star race to be eligible for points. I believe you also can run a race the day before without All Star permission.

Re: WoO/All Stars incentive pays?

Last year ASCOC paid $300 tow money per track in Florida, and I'm pretty sure it was $100 per night for all other shows. I believe that is for members in the top 15 in points. They also get a couple of pit passes for being ASCOC members (driver and owner), and discounts at most tracks for more pit passes. That was this past year.

The platinum Outlaw members also get free pit passes.

Wow, I sure figured it would be more than that. That's not much. You know they are spending way more than that in fuel alone. Does anyone know WoO tow money?

Re: WoO/All Stars incentive pays?

I've read it is $500/night for the top 10 and $300 for the remaining platinum drivers.

motorhead748 12/6/16 12:21 PM

One of their biggest incentives is going to so many different tracks across the country. This exposes them to fans that may only see them once or twice a year hence they are eager to spend money on T shirts and the like.
I'd be willing to bet a hot fudge sundae that Shatz sells more in Sovenoirs a year than USAC's entire sprint purse for the whole season.....

I would guess this would be true with All Stars, ESS, NRA, Patriot Sprint Tour, ASCS, IRA, OVSCA, FAST, Civil War, USCS, OSCS, NSL, MOWA, KWS, NOSA, MSA, NSS, MTS, UMSS as well, and most of these are winged organizations.

I couldn't disagree with that but they also are not the premier sanctions for their respective discipline

While I agree it would be great if all drivers could race for their “dream” purse, where is it written that because one "premier" sanction pays said amount, that they all must pay that amount. Why would a WoO driver even race with the All Stars, which basically has the same purse payout as USAC? Their purse might be 3 times the amount, and they probably spend 3 times the amount as well!

The OP's original question was about incentives.

Usac had 47 races x 21500 minimum purse that's $1,010,500 in season purse. I'll take that bet. Just seems super high to me. Let's make it a beer not a sundae. No doubt if you want to make a living as a driver Woo is place.

Did they schedule 47 or run 47? I have it on pretty good authority that shatz does a million a year. Seems unbelievable to me as well but there was no reason for me to be lied too.

Jbaldwin 12/7/16 1:14 PM

Scheduled 47. A few rained out/ canceled

I am not sure that I am buying......

1,000,000 divided by 25 (average shirt cost) equals 40,000 shirts sold per year. Over a 90 show year that is 444 shirts a race night.

Platinum teams get $1000 tow money. $500 for the second night.

Back in the day 1984, before T-shirt Trailers. Dana Kinser order 150 gross of shirts for the Knoxville national. A gross is 144 shirts. Steve sold double what anyone else sold.
Her order was delivered before the nationals, and was stored in one of the barns.
She had some shirts when they arrived. She sold out before the Saturday Checkered flag.
Shirts was around $10 then.
Steve was driving for thirty percent at the time.
And made more then anyone else on shirts or with the thirty percent.

They do quite a bit of merchandise online now.

I agree, it’s nearly unbelievable. But like I said it came from a very reliable source. But we’re not seeing the mail order side.
The WoO feels it is worthwhile to have 2 full time employees drive a semi around to all the races to sell swag.

Out of boredom & curiosity I went to Eldora last Friday. I’m not a DLM fan by any stretch. But Bloomers T-shirt trailer was as big as the WoO sprint trailer. Quite impressive

That is 33,638 t-shirts at $30
