ILLINI Pavement Midgets South Bend Saturday
 

The ILLINI/Midwest Pavement Midget Series will be ending our season this Saturday October the 15th at the South Bend Motor Speedway. This will be our first and only appearance this season in the Hoosier State. It has been a very long time since South Bend Motor Speedway has had midgets on the track so come out and support us so we can hopefully return again a few time in the 2017 season.

We anticipate a solid field of cars for this race with drivers coming from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

CDL DRIVERS YOUR FREE!!!! Thats right Pro Fleet Transport will be at the front gate handing out FREE passes to anyone providing a valid CDL. Pro Fleet the leading transport company is a proud supporter of short track racing and the South Bend Motor Speedway.

We would also like to invite Lightning Sprints and D2 Dirt Midget teams to this event. There will be a limited supply of free tires to use on a first come first serve basis please send me a PM to reserve your tires. We have had both lightning sprints and dirt D2 cars participate with us and they have been very competitive.

Reminder all times are Eastern Time. We are anticipating a full field of cars and if you have an old midget sitting around and wanting to join us check us out on our Facebook page and send me a message on here or on Facebook for the rules and information. We will be using transponders which will be provided for free. No entry fees or membership fees just show up and race. Will pay $125 to start this race.

We are still racing this Saturday there was some changes to the original plans so please pass the word the we will be racing at South Bend Motor Speedway this Saturday.



Saturday Gates open at 9 am with hot laps at 10 am qualfying at 1 pm and racing at 4 pm
Pit Pass $35
Grandstands $10 adults / $5 kids
NO Registration fee
All reserved pit spots wil be honored!

We was pleased with the turn out we have been averaging between 15 to 17 cars at Grundy County Speedway. This series was just put together as a joint deal in early August. We was able to have 7 races scheduled and ran 6 races because of one rain out at Grundy.

The race we just had was originally scheduled to take place at M40 then the promoter switched it to South Bend. Then on Thursday night I got the call that the race was canceled. I went to work fast and reached out to the Tony Eldridge at South Bend Speedway and less than 15 minutes later we was able to revive our race. Due to all of the changes that was out of our control we lost a few drivers but we still put on a great show and I would like to thank Tony and the entire staff at South Bend Speedway for picking up the entire show. They could have easily said oh well it is out of our hands since we had leased the track out and this was not our show. Instead they took the chance of losing lots of money to give all of the teams and drivers the race they had prepared for and put so much time and effort into.

It is my guess they came up very short since the fan turn out was very small.




Raced at Kalamazoo Speedway, Grundy County, Rockford and South Bend.
