There is a good bit of water on the racing surface in turn 3 about 10 feet from the inside that has reduced the racing surface going into 3 so that will make it interesting all night.
Track is very heavy but not many grooves. Hopefully it gets better.
Still hot lapping. Andrew Prather is done for the night.
First sprint heat race pushing off
Heat 1 on the track. Will post the finishes after the heats are done.
JJ Hughes was fast in heat one but no room on the bottom to pass. Bottom 15 feet is still mud
What was the finishing order? It's killing me to be home and not know what's happening!

What a joke. Mid night and heat races not done yet. Sad that the Lawrenceburg safety truck shows up at 11 after running a show. I left and doubt I go back the rest of the year. Most poorly ran show I have ever been too. Track was no where ready to hot lap on at time. Takes an hour to work the track in and then an hour an half to hot lap. So sad they will be racing till 3 am at this pace. Most families with young ones can't stay out that late.
I probably could have driven down from Kokomo and catch the A main...
Modifieds that ran Brownstown are here and will be tagging the tail of the feature. I'm gonna be here all night.
Re: North Vernon
I really hate to see problems like this. The comment about families with young ones was especially sad. I have seen far too many young families leave races before the heats were done over the past few years. It certainly doesn't help grow racing when things like this happen. It makes you appreciate Kokomo even more. There have been a few nights when I drove the 240 miles home after the races at Kokomo and got home earlier than it sounds like people at Twin Cities will tonight (sorry, tomorrow morning). Sad.

Re: North Vernon
Wow, I could've made it to TCRP after I left Brownstown before 11, naw don't think so....
They didn't even touch the track until before hot laps and had the sprints pack the track. If that small pond of water wasn't at the entrance of 3, the heats would have been even more competitive than they were. We did get to talk to JT Stapp and Drew Able before the action got started so that was cool of them to take time out to talk with us. Keith also talked to Mr. Hunter, Hunter O'Neals Dad. Such nice people. If you ever get a chance to talk with them in the pits, do it. Got to talk to Pushem for a few minutes. We sat beside Mrs. Hopkins and got to speak with her for a short time. Really nice person. We hope Bill James is OK after his accident. Chris Nunn is/was on the mic and was doing a bang up job as always.

Re: North Vernon
135am? No results? I'm back after two hour drive from Atomic.
Cockrum
Hopkins from 12th Bland Koontz Gaines |
Could you give us the rest of the results Chris
Won't be back
I'm announcing so I don't have much time to post at the moment
3:30 am and still Racing wow
I live 3 miles from the track and heard cars still racing at 345 am. Could have been dreaming but pretty sure.
Im sure you did. I will not be back.
I understand it was late and a long day. They received a large shower around noon which soaked the track. There was NO way they could have touched it before then. My proof of that was when the push truck came to the front stretch to get a stalled car he left 6" deep tire tracks. If im not mistaken Abel does the track work down there and did a FANTASTIC job with what they had to work with tonight. 2 grooves for the sprint B main and A main. The top five cars put on a hell of a show for those who stuck it out, i didnt see many breaks and thought they kept the show rolling real fast. I dont think anyone could have planned for that amount of cars in a single night. Hats off to N Vernon doing what they did otherwise we all would have had nothing do but ***** on a message board oh wait we still did that!! How about extending a little GRACE and common courtesy for the guys who worked there butts off and have their $ on the line. I hope the promoters had a great eve and were profitable so we get to do it again.

Re: North Vernon
when running 2 hours late on show and 100 plus cars there, why give each hotlap session 10 to 12 laps.
each heat took 5 to 10 laps to lineup, lots of wasted time. I left at 12:30 and still had consis and 6 features to run |
