Sounds like I have heard of this before....Indiana State Sprint Car Champion concept before??? but that idea was called the Indiana Race of Champions....and you are going to have this race with how many other classes of cars? Sounds like this was somebody elses idea....

Good Luck

Great marketing strategy...

Sprint car count is a bit light right now, so, invite all the best cars in the state, hoping a few might change their home track...

#1 This was Terry Eaglin's Idea
#2 Its a end of season racers party, with racing and much more.
#3 Nobody is forced to come and race, we have this race to show our appreciation to all racers.
#4 There is a ton of classes racing, almost everything that races on dirt is racing this weekend. This is the 13th annual Fun Fest.
#5 We are not trying to get anyone to change thier home track, there are no other tracks racing this weekend.
Bottomline, Its a weekend of fun, food and friends, racing and enjoying the weekend on last time before we all hibernate for the winter.

It sounds like a cool idea to me. Indiana is the racing capital of the world. We need more races like this. And I can't believe that another year of racing is almost over. Where does the time go?

The concept is great and Im glad they are at least doing it.
The problem I have is FF is three days and going sat night I wouldn't see the features of the normal racing and have to sit thru 15 classes of cars.

This race would go great with the MSCS night or a event of it's own. Top five from each track invited. Top two guaranteed start A MAin Two heats each points determine feature line up Sprint Bandit format That would be awesome and guarantee a full field. 30 laps! May the best man, or woman win!
Reason for some of that is some drivers are top two at more than one track.

I'll try to make it!
to this one to see the drivers and support the concept.

The thing Id much rather see with Fun Fest is each night have features of the ODD-Even and not just the heats much like Knoxville format.

Have fun
Chuck

Chuck,

The way Fun Fest is set up you have the Odd/Even Features on Friday night, the Saturday Night Specials on Saturday night, and the Features on Sunday.

I know last year we didn't get all of the Odd/Even Features completed on Friday and had to finish some on Saturday morning after the fog lifted. But I think we ran all of the Saturday Night Specials on Saturday night.

If you need a Fun Fest flyer stop by the tower Saturday night. I think we have a stack on the counter.

Would love to be there, but Gold Crown midgets at Tri-city Speedway might keep some of your drivers busy.

Sorry Shane, But it was them Winged cars, They were so fast and caused so much turbulance the air had no where to go but out of the track.

Re: Big News: Indiana State Sprint Car Championship

Dave,

I think this race of Champions is a great idea. Its promotions like this that make racing interesting to say the least but I think its something everybody will enjoy.
I also think the timing is OK since the season is over but kind of wonder if every track champion will want to compete in just the 1 event and have to wait through all your other events going on?
Good luck with it!:thumb

Re: Big News: Indiana State Sprint Car Championship

HARF, Sprint Mart, DRC, Hoosier Tire, and more coming soon are sponsors of this Champions event. This special event within a event will also have the same thing in Late Models and Modifieds, The Top 2 in points from each of the indiana tracks for the sprints, and we are also including the top 2 in points from Moler, and Florance, for the Lates and Mods. We will be paying $1000 to win in the sprints, and Gift cert. and cash on down, $500 to win in lates and mods, with gift cert. on down. I'll keep everyone informed as i get more info on this event.
Thanks, Dave

Chin up Dave.......Thank you for coming up with different ideas to help the racers and give the fans some variety.......You of all people know just about every fan has an opinion on how they want a race to run.....As soon as you cater to one, then another one is unhappy......For the most part, if the racing is good, they will come.......

Remember: Opinions are like a steering wheel........They all steer you in a certain direction, but if you let someone else grab the wheel, you may wreck what you have built.......

See you at Fun Fest!!!!!!!
