Not sure what is going on here, but T-Mez reports on Twitter that he will be spectating the rest of the week. Again, I'm not sure what's going on here. Just seems weird when he is currently third in USAC National Points.

Per Amati Racing's Facebook page:

The Amati Team and Thomas Meseraull have parted ways. We would like to thank Thomas for his contribution to our team and wish him luck. This team is and will always be a fan of TMez. We are currently examining our options for the rest of Sprint Week. When a driver has been secured we will make an announcement.

Wow!

That is somewhat surprising.

Don't understand that one bit, 3rd in national points, he has been doing really well in the car. Last I knew everything was going good.

WOW Didn"t see that coming, I wish them both good luck rest of the season :8:

cmiracingvids 7/11/16 4:37 PM

TMez a bit of a character. Maybe they didn't gel like they had hoped. Would love to see Boespflug back in that ride!

Re: T-Mez and Amati Racing

Based on the comments on the Facebook post, it definitely doesnt look like a mutual split. Wish the best to both in the future. Hopefully someone will throw TMez in a car for a few shows the rest of the week

Re: T-Mez and Amati Racing

There is only one call for Amati to make to prepare for Wednesday at Terre Haute and it has to be to the Modern Day Cowboy.

HARFprez 7/11/16 4:57 PM

Dumb question, with the split, does the
"3rd in USAC points" go to the car or to the driver?

Jim Gardner 7/11/16 5:01 PM

Re: T-Mez and Amati Racing

Points are split driver/owner just like most series. Currently both driver and owner are 3rd in their respective points standings.
Here are the points as of last night.

The t-mez had a blanket that was too big for the hauler. Not allowed this Sprintweek.Hard to figure.

DHayes818 7/11/16 7:26 PM

Makes that trailer flat tire story from last night a little more interesting

vickijames 7/11/16 7:45 PM

Separate points.

Last ZD reported, he was running with POWRi on Friday and Saturday.

Chris Nunn 7/11/16 10:15 PM

Meseraull has found a ride according to his Facebook.

Blitzman 7/11/16 10:43 PM

ISW soap opera continues!!!!

I wonder if a call was ever made to Kody Swansen. Not sure his exact plans are. But it would be a good thought.

Charles Nungester 7/11/16 10:45 PM

Re: T-Mez and Amati Racing

Check his FB page and the comments. He admits he said some things he probably shouldn't have and got the axe.

Feel sorry for both team and driver in this case.

Chuck

SprintBeard 7/11/16 10:56 PM

Looks like he will be running with Landon Simon

streetglider 7/11/16 11:04 PM

Kody Swanson seriously ??? LMAO This ISW isn't asphalt or Champ Car. He has been no show when it comes to running with the best non wing sprint car drivers..... He's a cherry picker playing in the minors when it comes to the traditional sprint cars ... IMHO

Stevensville Mike 7/11/16 11:14 PM

Re: T-Mez and Amati Racing

I know this is a pipe dream, but imagine the buzz that would occur if they called up a Jac Haudenschild to wheel the 66. Or a Sammy Swindell. Or, for Bloomington.... Steve Kinser.

None of these guys are really chasing any points anywhere but they are all HUGE fan draws.

flagboy55 7/11/16 11:20 PM

Streetglider, I wouldn't be quite that harsh but I agree with your point. Mr Swanson is magic in the big cars and seems like a super nice guy but I would have to pass. He might be ok at Terre Haute if it slicks up real bad, the bullrings after that, no. If it were my car I would calling Ohio and see if that Huadenschild kid wants to give Usac a try. He has the pedigree

LEADERS EDGE 7/11/16 11:28 PM

I don't think I"d bet against Kody Swanson for very long.

You don't race at the level he does and be satisfied with missing shows and running mid pack. May not happen immediately.... But after 6 to 8 shows he will be tough .

Newport13 7/11/16 11:30 PM

Well, I don't think it is necessary to put down a driver. If memory serves, Kody Swanson won a $5,000 to win Fremont traditional sprint show this year against such drivers as Ballou, Darland, Bacon, Meseraull, Cottle and Simon. Unfortunately, IMHO, your opinion is off the mark on this one. He has made great strides in traditional sprints in a short amount of time. Any team would be lucky to have him.

Yeah, or THAT Haudenschild. :6:

streetglider 7/11/16 11:32 PM

Flagboy I don't disagree with you , SH wouldn't be a bad choice. Sorry if I wasn't politically correct & was too harsh in this day and age. My first choice would probably be Daron Clayton. Having said that , I would also consider a Dallas Hewitt or a Jordan Kinser. Hell, for what it's worth why not a Critter Malone ? He is definitely a wheel man who has earned his stripes on a very limited budget.

streetglider 7/11/16 11:39 PM

Newport - Sorry I offended you ! But I was just stating the obvious. I do like Kody - but if he had the ballz he would be at ISW running with the big dogs instead of treading in the shallows..... You can only be the best if you beat the best. Just saying
