Paragon Speedway Amati 68
Paragon Speedway Sat June 18 Amati Classic 68, Sprints 68 laps $3000 to win
|
Watt the run down on pay off
|
Started talking about this race last night at Burg as we sat through the never ending redraw. Looking forward to it, one of my favorite races of the year.
|
And once again this Saturday 6-18-16, will be a HARF night at Paragon Speedway, 1/2 price admission (with current membership card) to the exciting 68 lap Amati Classic. Come out to Paragon Speedway for a great night of racing at a historic race track and save some cash.

Re: Paragon Speedway Amati 68
I wouldn't miss this race for anything. This was the best race I saw all year, last year. A whale of a duel between Robert Ballou and Brady Short. Plus, the One Armed Bandit was my favorite driver as a kid.

Re: Paragon Speedway Amati 68
What is the admission for Saturday? I searched for it on the website, but could only find the regular night price of $15. Is it a regular price night?
|
20 i believe
|
Yes $20 general unless I hear different.
|
Any idea on who is coming would be great so I can get trucks lined up.

Re: Paragon Speedway Amati 68
I agree Kenny! Go with the intentions on winning.....unfortunately, there will 40 other drivers trying to do that as well and there is only 1 winner.
I think a lot of teams are thinking about how much it is going to cost to run the race compared to how much money they can get in return. It will take about 30-35 gallons of fuel for the night ($110-$120), probably 3 tires ($600), and 3 or 4 pit passes ($90-$120), which will be around $800.00 to run the race and basically putting 2 nights on your motor for just one race. If first place is the only spot where a team could only break even, then that changes things a bit...Due to the cost factor, we have also thought about going to either Lawrenceburg or LPS, but will probably end up at Paragon this weekend since we haven't ran a race there this season. We don't race for the money, but it sure makes things a little easier when we actually do make a little money back to buy tires and parts for next week. |
You won't be saving any tire money at the burg that's pretty much assured.

Re: Paragon Speedway Amati 68
Any drivers confirmed for Saturday or expected to run? Will be a good show regardless of who is there I know, but trying to sell my buddy on going and he was asking names and wasn't sure who this event would draw. Know some might be in Arkansas running a USAC Midget and Putnamville has their regular show too running opposite. The old response of "whoever shows up" didn't suffice with him. LOL

Stanbrough confirmed.

I would think around 30.
|
Making the 6hr trek from Michigan, never been to Paragon any nuggets of wisdom out there? I see the seats are on a grassy hill is there any room for bag chairs? Any concessions specialties?
|
If you get there early you can park on the hill over looking the track. Other than that there is plenty of room for chairs. I've never had the concessions on the front stretch but I've heard they aren't bad. Will be a good race to come watch. I'll be in the infield. Glad you are coming down.
|
Car count hard to tell had 26 last week. Lowest since ive been running there. I sat in those stand as a kid amati always a favorite.
