Re: $6000 to Win Non Winged Sprints!!
I'll be planning to check out this show...I'm not sure very many guys knew this race was on the schedule (I, for one, just found out about it recently!), so I'm sure more will show interest in it as they are made aware. I'll definitely be pressuring a lot of guys to go! haha
I would say even the guys who are hesitant to run Haubstadt because of the Sunday Winchester race might be willing to head over for a Friday night show with this kind of pay to win. May I ask what the rest of the purse looks like? |

Re: $6000 to Win Non Winged Sprints!!
Glad to see the Shaheen's race still on for this year after all of the weather related problems you have dealt with this year. Will be over to support the show and just one thing I may ask soak the track would like to have it wet and tacky all night long.If this is done and a good turnout of cars and drivers are there any chance of going all out next year and call it Shaheen's super weekend and run on friday and saturday night like they used to at Little Springfield Speedway non wings of course.

:thumbHopefully ma' nature will cooperate. Not looking so good for this weekends midget show. (bummer). Can't wait for the Shaheens. Should be a great show, hopefully 30- 40 cars and a packed grandstand. Count us in. (assuming we don't get tore up next weekend)

Re: $6000 to Win Non Winged Sprints!!
Bill,
My dad and I will be there too....unique thing, we both raced at Shaheen's. Not many of us left. Randy Bateman did and I'm sure he will be there. Ron Standridge of course. Maybe somebody could motivate Jim Moughan to run topless and how cool it would be to see Donnie Beechler come out and run. Manny Rockhold is another. Steve Thomas |
Re: $6000 to Win Non Winged Sprints!!
Those Shaheen Super Weekends were exactly that....Super!
My first one, probably '74 or '75 was the first time I'd seen this guy named Wolfgang. He was in the Van Patten Mobile Homes car with duct tape, baling wire and about 7 different colors everywhere.....and that was just Wolfies glasses!:O: Seems like there were 60-70 cars on both nights....fabulous stuff. I'm really looking forward to this show too. Wanna watch Hess attempt to impersonate a Sprint Car driver again:rolling |

Re: $6000 to Win Non Winged Sprints!!
Any chance you will share any of the e-mails or entries you have recieved with us ?

Re: $6000 to Win Non Winged Sprints!!
Keep the emails and replies coming. The fans are curious to see who is coming out to race. Right now the main added interest seems to be coming from the Indiana Area. Locals like Standridge, Ulrisch, Branson, Wissmiller, Thomas are racing.
Will keep updates as we get them. Need to get FANS IN THE STANDS!!! This time of the year is hard with home football games going on in Jacksonville. |
Re: $6000 to Win Non Winged Sprints!!

Re: $6000 to Win Non Winged Sprints!!
Bill, it would be nice if you would pass the information from your phone calls from drivers and e-mails from drivers on to we fans. So far all you have listed are the regular weekly racers. I know everyone that calls or e-mails won't end up racing there, and I will come no matter who is going to be there. If I have a few names to at least spread around I may be able to talk more fans into coming. I didn't know that you had reserved seats until I read a previous post ?

It payed $2500 to win, both nights and that was a good pay day back then. I payed $50 for a RR (McCreary) and under $1.00 a galon for fule and pulled the car on a open trailor. I donated the Saturday night trophy to the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame several yrs. ago when Steve was inducted to the hall of fame. Jeff Stoops still has the Friday night trophy. They were both idenical in looks. I still have the winner circle picture with Joe Sheheen in it. Phil Poor Anderson, In,:thumb |
Re: $6000 to Win Non Winged Sprints!!
Glad to see your setup on payoff. 6000 to win and 500 to start is what has been needed at the big races. MSCS pays 10000 to win their big shows, but the average racer has got the shaft, for they run for the minimum start money for more laps. At least I give you credit for figuring this out and I wish much success.
Racers should support this race. |
Re: $6000 to Win Non Winged Sprints!!
$500 to start and $6000 to win, WOW! how non-wing racing should always payoff......should be a great race!

Re: $6000 to Win Non Winged Sprints!!
I will be there, hope to watch some great racing, is coolers allowed?

Re: $6000 to Win Non Winged Sprints!!
We don't search for coolers in the pits but there is no alcohol allowed in the pits. No coolers are allowed in the grandstands. We have a nice bar with a live feed of the races going on. The bar, concession, popcorn stand and bathrooms are all in the covered main grandstand. There is a small concession stand in the pits.

As for the track, I've only been up there a few times this season, so I don't know if they're really doing anything differently in terms of track prep, but it seems like the track has stayed tackier this season. And you're right about the food. The pork tenderloin is absolutely awesome.:applaud: |
