Outlaws @ Haubstadt

Do the Outlaws or TSS ever cancel for cold conditions? The wind chills on saturday look pretty ominous, but still willing to make the trip if they are going racing. Thanks

rclaridge 5/13/16 10:45 AM

They'll race no doubt!

coachmeece 5/13/16 1:33 PM

Who are some of the non-wing guys you hear are coming? Definately looking forward to this show, packing the long johns and gloves. On the plus side beer will stay cold easily while tailgating. :32:

coachmeece 5/13/16 3:35 PM

Hearing bc, bacon, and Dakota jackson.. i know bacon and bc run wing often but i still consider them non wing guys haha

Re: Outlaws @ Haubstadt

Not sure how to count Parker Price Miller and Hunter Schuerenberg, but both are with the outlaws tonight. Looks like Terry McCarl is also with the Outlaws this weekend.

open_wheel_outlaw 5/14/16 4:26 PM

Add Chase Stockon to the non wing guys running with the Outlaws tonight!

Nate 5/14/16 5:11 PM

Re: Outlaws @ Haubstadt

Dakota Jackson is planning to run 7-8 winged races this year between WoO, MOWA and ASCoC.

For some reason they are not letting Stockon run...

bmemmer 5/14/16 7:14 PM

Tubing on his car is to small. Safety issue.

Rpracing1 5/14/16 7:50 PM

Packed house here at Haubstadt!

treecitytornado 5/14/16 8:07 PM

Probably axle tubing too small, not chassis tubing.

Axle tubing? If that was the case don't you think he would've just bought an axle off someone? The lower frame rails on the chassis were .083 and outlaws rules state they have to be. 095 unless the tubing is 1.5" then it can be 083 but it was not so can not race with them.

motorhead748 5/14/16 8:32 PM

Seriously?? Tear up the track just to show off their equipment 15 minutes b4 scheduled start time Worst part about coming here is the tractor parade they feel they have to do multiple times per nite.

3wide 5/14/16 8:38 PM

Could've told you the track rework was going to happen in December. They have always done it and probably always will.

brsteg 5/14/16 8:42 PM

They tear the track up and water twice a night if it needs it or not.

How many sprints tonight?

treecitytornado 5/14/16 9:06 PM

Yea, guess he could've spent $750-$1000 for a complete new front axle, because nobody in their right mind would build one at the track, lol. Most frames should be standard on the bottom frame rails and WoO legal. I know Maxim would be.

If you know then whats your *****? :7:

Hamby812 5/14/16 9:36 PM

I never have and never will complain about the tractor parade at haubstadt. It makes for great racing and it's easier on equipment than bouncing through ruts all night long. Bacon looked good in his heat.

Dirtfan 5/14/16 11:00 PM

Finish
Gravel
Bacon
Parker Price Miller

bmemmer 5/14/16 11:37 PM

Dan Bacon was coming. If it wasn't for lapped cars I think he would of got gravel

treecitytornado 5/14/16 11:47 PM

Brady, not Dan. He was rolling for sure.

bmemmer 5/15/16 12:43 AM

I know Bacon's name. I was talking to Dan Hester

treecitytornado 5/15/16 1:45 AM

Ok, sorry.

not upset..but all they did was make the track 1 lane for the heats when it had just started to widen out. Yea it's a good show& I'll be back. I know there is nothing they ca do about it but I'd wager the bulk off there fans come from the EST zone so many got out at 11:30 after seeing just 1 feature. At least they ran the mods last when it was first announced they were gonna be first

ThePurple73 5/15/16 9:32 AM

Re: Outlaws @ Haubstadt

I've never seen a wing race at Haubstadt. Do they try to stick the cars at the bottom and mainly gain time in the turns? Seems it would be tricky changing lanes with all the traffic. I'm guessing the wing cars really dig up the dirt there.

openwheelfan1 5/15/16 9:38 AM

By my watch (cell phone) David Gravel rolled back in to the infield after clearing the scales at 9:51 CDT. The first WoO heat pushed at 7:41 CDT. While I agree that the heats were less than exciting, WoO heats rarely have much if any passing, especially with the new "straight up" format. If watching tractors roll around for 25 minutes and starting 10 minutes late is what it takes to have a sticky, smooth race track that produces a great feature, I'm all for it.

Knowing how much rain fell over Southern Indiana this past week, I am amazed at the condition of not only the track but the whole facility. Outstanding effort by the Tri-State Speedway staff to have it ready and in great shape!

I totally agree with that post. The heat races were not that exciting but you take that knowing that it will be hammer down come feature time and it was. Almost everyone closed up shop due to the weather and those that didnt may possibly think that they should have after the night was over.

TSS made the best of a Mother Natures decisions and to the average spectator you would have never knew they had to change the program.

Hats off to Tom and the whole team.

Packed house Ron as usual.

Thanks to TSS for putting on a great event and putting in all the extra effort that it took to make the event happen with all the wet grounds they had to contend with. Wish Brady could have gotten the W but Gravel had a he'll of a drive. Him versus Madsen in the Dash provided some exciting racing that doesn't normally happen to often in an Outlaws Dash, definitely a highlight of the evening.
