Great job josh

Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Was that Shane Hmiel's first time on dirt? Great job by him. That guy is a heck of a driver. It's a shame he is in the position he put himself in, but if he has kept his act together, I believe it's time to start the process of giving him another chance.
A tip of the cap as well for Stephanie Tuttle. Two top 5 finishes the last two weeks. Although she has been hit and miss in the sprints, she has been a winner in everything else she has driven and I know Geoff and the guys work their tails off. Great job. |
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
5to go Gaines,Sisco,McIntosh,Heck,Stockton in one pile front straight with some of them flippin high as the flag stand. This was not your huggy pole race it was wide open high with passin in mid track.

Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
:applaud:Dick head dikie gaines caused a massivie wreck and junked about 5 cars by pushing macintoshs car and ramping over her left rear tire.clearly gaines did not have a clear clean passing lane.clearly dirty raceing, his trade mark. His car owners were laughing in the pits after he was black flagged at the people whos cars were tore up. Nice to know that there are some people who suport this kind of tactics as a way of wininng a race. Gaines is famous for dirty racing ,this is why he, has been in trouble in the past.

when a car does a slide job and is three quarters of a car ahead of the car they are passing and the passed car never lets out of the gas it causes a maylay and a pile up like you described. So in my eyes if anyone is to blame I feel it is Arin McIntosh she was passed and Dickie was clearly taking the spot away from her and instead of lifting like a good driver would she left her foot on the the throttle and caused what you saw last night. As for dirty driving that's not what got him in the boat he was in learn the facts first.

Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
:angry-smiley-007: I also don't believe that the car owners were laughing at what had been done to the cars on the track from what I hear the name calling and the rudness of the people around them was totally uncalled for if you've got a problem with the driver of the car yell at him not the person in the pits that pulls the car there, they don't drive it dickie does.

Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Good job Josh. I wish I was there to see your win but we were in Flora.

Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
It was a very sad situation at Paragon. Arin McIntosh ran second for twenty laps and it looked like Dickie's frustration that caused him to drive into her causing the big multicar pile up in a very good competitive race. Arin is one of the smoothest and cleanest consistant drivers on the track. Doug Heck and Chase Stockon lost cars in flipping down the front straightaway. Chase's car was the first night out after a bad night with the other car at Haubstadt last week. This is not a comment to start anything, just the way I saw the situation. Dickie was the one disqualified by Kieth Ford for rough driving, but it does not replace the torn up race cars.
Sam Stockon Sr. |
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
The wreck was crazy!!! I'm not placing blame on anyone but holy moly I was suprised everyone got out unharmed. The crowd was pissed they were yelling some very choice words at Dickie under the red. It was the fastest track I have been on yet. I wish the track was like that every weekend.

Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Does chase have another car to finish out the year?
|
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Chase had two GRP frames, but enough equipment for one car. The bar chassis was torn up at Haubstadt last Sunday. Chase's dad put the Saturday night car together this week with a new body and paint scheme. It was pretty well trashed in the flip, but in talking to him today he feels he can salvage enough parts to be at the last race at Paragon. The frame was not that bad. The problems of a blue collar racer, but there is alot of racer at Paragon that understand that. Chase is still leading the points.

As far as the rudness, Dickie and his crew were lucky they did not have to fight their way out of the track. The big guy that works on Arin's car was pretty mad. |

Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Dont get excited Trent it was rubber that made them locked down and fast. I will say the heats had more moisture than usual. But the track was not tacky fast in the feature but rubber. That is why a slide job was a difficult thing to perform. Not much chance of making one work.

well i think that mcintosh on most nights is a moving shicane so i dont see how it could have been gaines' fault, he has had problems in the past but i think he is on the right track now and racing is racing

Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Moving chicain? Really? Come on, she is pretty good and they work their butts off to go racing.(Like most people) Does she have the accomplishments of Dickie? No, but most people don't.
I would say that if you asked the drivers in the pits, 90 percent would have respect for her. You can't please everyone, but in my opinion, she has done a great job in her first few years. I didn't see the Paragon deal, so it very well could have been her fault, but to call her a moving chicain is a little rough. |
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
First off Congrats Josh on a great run,
Secondly, I was right behind it and saw the whole thing up close and personal and barely made it through, Arin was running a good race, my car was a little too tight in the rubber and i didnt have anything for her or josh but in my opinion Dickie didn't have her cleared, but we are all human and all make mistakes, his RR ran over her LF and broke the front end, I dont blame her for not lifting, I have a lot of respect for her just because she didnt, but the collision caused the car to fall down and turn across the track, causing the crash.... I have raced against Dickie before and never had any problems of him rough driving, and we get along pretty well, so like i said we are all humans and we all make mistakes |
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
I was also there and it appeared that Dickie had almost cleared her when the accident took place. I have the upmost respect for both drivers, but do feel that Dickie should have been blacked flagged. If that was the case then the driver that hit Bill Babcock should also have been black flagged and Ked Hollars for hitting the number 7 car after the race had finished. It appears that some drivers can get away with anything but others are always penalized. It is racing and rubbing, bumping and accidents are bound to happen, but none of them or should I say most of them are not intentional. It was a great night for racing but the track was slick.
|
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Sorry, typo error, I meant to say that I do not think that Dickie should have been black flagged.
|
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Ok first of all this is Ked Hollars Jr and let me just say yes rubbing is racing but when someone ues your car to get around the corner it gets pretty old after a while. I didn't mean to hit him The 7 of David Brummet but when i got to him my brakes quit and i couldn't help it. Yes when i hit him he slammed his brakes on and spun around and i hit him again. When he came in the pits he tried to run me and my wife over and that was all uncalled for. When we were talking to the security guard Tony Walker came in and started yelling and while the Security guard was trying to talk to him he sped off tearing the security guards pants and mine also- therefore why wasn't something done about that?!! As for people getting away with stuff then why did the 56-Tony Walker get away with spinning the 18of Steve Hollars out the night he won the future because he should have been black flagged~ the 56 that is.So if your going to call people out by name make sure you list ALL that was involved! I wasn't going to go to this extreme but you called it out so now lets just tell everybody who is who! If it wasn't for having the utmost respect for Grandma Winnie then maybe we wouldn't have gotten this all out of proportion it could have done been settled but we have a great deal of respect for the lady and have felt all this wasn't neccessary! I think if there was a beef with one car that it shouldn't have gone to the entire race team! As far as Keith Ford going to talk to us about what had happened well we never seen him did you? So apperently he knew what happened on the track was an accident!! I did start the taill of the b-main if you noticed because of the brake issue.
|
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Dirttracklady~~The track was not slick, it was rubbered down.
Gaines should have been black flagged for a bone head move that the crowd, officials, crew and drivers all approved of. Great job Keith Ford!!!!! Fastman4~~are you the driver that caused the red flag in the B main for not getting off the track when black flagged that caused me to get home so late? |
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
I was there to watch the races and was in the pits by the fence and seen everything that happened with the 33-7-& 56 and i think it was all uncalled for on the 7 and 56 part. The security guard just about got drugged away on the 56 and saying their pants got ripped the 7 trying to hit the other two was rediculous! As for the sprints how could you see from the pits what was going on because of all the dust unless you were in the stands? Where was the track owner during all this he should have been doing something about the whole thing along with some other issues that should of been taken care of in the past. Paragon is becoming a fight fest not a racing track. A longtime fan of PAragon sprints!

Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Hey NoWIngs i was not the cause of the red I was in street stocks and i got on here to look and noticed my name and it should not have been an issue that was even posted on here since this is for sprint cars. I was just defending myself for something some bonehead idiot started posting on here. I don't know what red you are talking about_Sorry! I was making a point that they need to mind their own business and leave me and my race team the He** alone! Maybe they are the ones who need to learn to drive.
|
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
No problem. The way you made it sound I thought you were the one that they stopped the B main for. My bad.
|
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Not a problem dude!
|
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Sounds to me like Dickie tried to intimidate Arin into backing off. Arin stood up to him, held her line, and kept her foot on the gas. Way to go, Arin! 3/4 clear isn't clear and doesn't own the spot. Dickie bad . Do not pass go, do not collect $200 .
|
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
I am still shocked about the racing....and passing.... forget the crash!!!:rolling

Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
My whole point is if your going to do it for one you must do it for all. There have been cases when many have bumped each other and nothing is taken to extremes. This entire incident did start a while back and could have been resolved quickly had some chosen to do so. Most of you should know that those boys grandfather was Steve Bowlen and he taught these boys to race fair and square. He also taught them that tempers may flare and your going to rub each other from time to time but that is racing. EVERY ACTION RECREATES A REACTION. It is up each individual to handle these situations and some choose not to handle these in the best way. I am very familiar with this family and the entire situation is old. Keith Ford was in the stands talking to the grandmother that night. As far as what I saw in the pits, I have very good eyes, have been in a racing family for years, that is the way I saw it and I am sorry if some of you disagree. I

Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
It seems to me that a lot of these statements are made by people not aware of the entire picture. In my mind Arin Mcintosh drove a good race held her line and actually made about 4 shots at passing Cunningham . Gaines suffered from frustration that he could not make a clean pass and drove right into her.some days you get the bear and some days the bear gets you. She was driving my car and I couldnt be prouder of her JACK REED Tonys Dad
|
Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
Arin was doing a great job, as she does on a weekly basis. She is fast, consistent, clean, and a hard racer. I have no issues with Dickie Gaines, but he flat screwed up. Many of the "boy racers" would do well to follow Arin"s example.

this here stuff about pairagon is about the funnyist sh1t me ever red!!

Re: Paragon Speedway Results 9-6-08
I would just like to say that I know Dickie felt extremely bad over the situation last Saturday and would like to clear up that no one from his team was laughing at other people's misfortunes by any means or had any intentions of trying to make a stink with a bunch of good people that will have to race together dozens of times in the future. Trying to apologize or give an explanation that evening would have just started trouble and dickie is not one to be rude to anyone. The end result was a horrible situation but many other circumstances could have led to that type of accident. He would never have made hard enough contact with anyone to send them flipping or blatently take them out, there was just a little contact and the field bottlenecked down the line and by the time mid pack got to the flagman the accordion effect happened. If someone is still truly upset and feels the need to retaliate that is a risk they will have to take but the result could end up the same with a lot of torn up stuff on there own car as well as others. not trying to make excuses just wanted to make clear there was no disrespect or gloating that a bunch of s__t got torn up and many people had a miserable night because that is not why we nor anyone else goes to the track to strive for.
