Twin Cities Schedule Posted

Twin Cities Raceway Park currently has 8 Non-Wing 410 shows on their schedule; including a possible BOSS Show. They also have a Racesaver 305 show too, for 9 total as of now. I'm still hoping for a 410 Winged show like the Budweiser Shootout days for less money, but still plenty of fast racing. Still OPEN TIRE RULE for the Non-Wing 410s. www.twincitiesracewaypark.net. Word is some new clay coming to "The Twin" this winter too!

Can you verify what is going on with the BOSS date? BOSS has that show at Whitewater but I'm not quite sure whats going on with that facility?

sprinter14 2/3/16 12:16 PM

As the owner of BOSS, I can confirm that the July 29 Whitewater date has been moved to Twin Cities. I will have a press release out tonight or tomorrow making it official. Thanks!

New Clay! I think new catch fence is needed before new clay. Till they do that I won't go back, I still cringe when I think bout Brady Short going though that fence like a hot knife going though butter. I know this has been brought up a bunch but it still needs to be done, before somebody is injured or worse :deadhorse:

Here we go again with the fence

I'm sure someone could find something wrong with anything, several years ago, there was a Tq went OVER the fence in turn one, only the worst place on the track to do it, tallest fence area, furthest to the ground, couldn't have been a worse place, landed on his left side, rattled him pretty good, broke a couple of fingers, very little damage to the car, back running in about three weeks, fence had nothing to do with it making anything any better, you just can't make things any safer than the accident, no where is any safer than anyplace else, but someone always has to bring it up, leave it alone, please! Bob

Sideways 2/3/16 9:46 PM

I sit right in turn 4 when I go not worried at all.If people are that worried they need to find a safer sport to go watch.

Nate 2/3/16 9:48 PM

Watch the Loudpedal videos of the Trophy Cup, or that mod going through the fence at Plymouth and taking out a light post right in front of the main grand stands.

It's racing, things happen.

treecitytornado 2/3/16 11:47 PM

I'll just say the fans are much safer at Twin Cities than some other tracks we have raced on within the last couple of years. Not every track can afford a big upgrade, it's a little at a time!

cshuman 2/4/16 12:26 AM

Gas City, Bloomington, LPS, Paragon... All have NO fence or wall.. Just sayin

[Q
UOTE=PAW;438083]Stay Home![/QUOTE lol Stay home , I didn't watch 63 races last year by staying home, so I' spend my money at another track where I know the drivers won't be going though a fence.

treecitytornado 2/4/16 10:55 AM

All those tracks have walls, guardrails, and fences. Just not all the way around. I believe the fence at Gas City didnt help John Wolfe's arm in 2003.

Perhaps jim goerge can start a gofundme collection effort to make a donation to Twin Cities. Meanwhile, I hope the rest of us can enjoy racing as good as last year. New dirt hopefully will reduce the racer cost of cut tires.

Am I the only one that remembers that Brady also left the park at Tri-state this past year, but instead of through a fence, he went completely over it? I think I'm starting to see a trend here, if Brady wants to leave a race track, he'll find a way, whether over a fence or through it. I'm beginning to think he's so fast that the track just can't contain him any more :D

cshuman 2/4/16 12:50 PM

I guess my point is, what's the difference in flipping through the turn 3 chain lick fence at north Vernon, and flipping over the banking in turn 3 at Bloomington or gas city? And JT, the John Wolfe getting hurt had nothing to do with a fence, it had to do with him getting hit by another car at a high rate of speed..

Slider20 2/4/16 1:22 PM

Guys relax. I'll buy them a new fence when I hit the Powerball on Saturday night!

I wasn't going to comment at all and I agree racers know the dangers and will race or not on their decision.

But its wrong for a fan to say so as they see a fence that has no chance of even slowing down a car from landing in a grandstand.

I've laid out in the past that building it in sections is still better than nothing and ways to do it without totally breaking the bank yet a third clay installment since the Brady Short ballpark incident is more important?

I was walking the gangplank at LBurg when Brad Stevens hit LBurgs front straight fence right in front of me and thank the lord everyday that was a containment fence and not a garden fence.. No Twin Cities has no Casino money for that nobody denies that But you could buy old worn out Railroad track at scrap prices, Cut notches and hang rolls of 15ft link fence and run cables through it like Terre Haute

Charles, you're making too much damn sense! :6:
Build a new fence for God's sakes! I miss the Indiana Sprint Week opener there; some of the best sprint car races I've ever seen.
This has been an issue since 2007 when they last had a USAC race and it seems like whoever runs the track just can't admit there's a problem (or they don't care). Like Charles more or less said, they've had 8 years to at least piecemeal something halfway decent.

I don't really blame the promoter either her Chris, I believe the owner is D.A still and as lon as he gets his rent, He don't care. A promoter without iron clad contracts has no incentive to spend big $$ if the track may not be theirs to run next year Even if they put 10k a year into 100 ft sections of fence, Thats a net loss on the Promoter. However if D.A wanted to have more racers and fans and be able to raise the rent. Then thats a INVESTMENT against future returns

What will close a track down faster? Pointing out safety concerns that may need to be address or letting them unresolved until something really bad happens to a driver or fan?

hupp#9 2/5/16 10:36 AM

Just let it rest guys, the ones who don't want to come don't come the ones who do will Thats at every track of it was going to be fixed it would've been they've known about the problems trust me you guys post about the fence everytime there is a race at Vernon if they raced every weekend someone every week would bring it up! We all know they know about the fence it is what it is.. How many cars have left the park at terrehaute and landed on cars in the parking lot? Everyone still loves that place. My opinion id rather go through the fence like Brady did than have a bad ass fence like Eldora and have it pin ball you back in front of traffic and get hit wide open

jim goerge 2/6/16 2:49 AM

Re: Twin Cities Schedule Posted

My point about the fence is not only about Brady going though it but and its a BIG but, But a lot of you guys are probley to young to remember the old Florida Fair Grounds Speedway. If I even remember right it was a half mile fairly flat track kinda like Terre Haute, but anyway George Snyder caught the wall a bit before the first turn and got up in the catch fence.part of the car went though the fence and as the car was turning over the fence was wrapping around it Snyders injuries were not life threating but they were bad enough , broken arm shoulder, back wasn't broke but think pulled muscles. The deal here is no one could help Goerge till they got the fence away from the car which they did but it took a good half hour the 45 minutes before they get Goerge out , I just remember him sreaming out in pain.I don't want to hear that again . But Logan you made a very good point to about a fence as you said pin balling you back in front of traffic. I guess none of us really have the answer about it . You guys race there and Ill go to another track that night and hope all you guys are ok :D

We'll be there providing updates for most of these races! Can't wait until racing season starts :-) Hope to meet some IOW's this year.

Can't wait to see drivers with their elbows up pushinthecushin!
