I've noticed LPS TSS THAT Kokomo Bloomington speedways schedules don't have a KISS date. Only track I've seen mention a KISS race in 2016 is Lawrenceburg speedway. Anyone have any idea what's going on with the KISS series?
I'd heard rumors of purse restructuring and a title sponsor for that series.

Interesting question,I've been pondering that myself, last I had heard it was to be a topic of conversation this past weekend at the Fairgrounds Expo?

Possibly the Indiana Sprint Car Series (S. Buckley/ MavTV races) and K.I.S.S. becoming united?
Just a curious thought ...

Lets just hope that the fact that a schedule hasn't been announced yet means that plans are still being finalized to have a bigger and better series!

Burg has a higher gate for May 14th but yet no mention of a special yet, This means nothing other than it could be.

GC has no mention or even a date listed that could be.

My dream would be that the KISS series tie in with Midget week There'd be no conflict with USAC or any other big sprint races, It would be openwheel only with good counts in both, However this scenario don't currently include Paragon or Tri State. Also its a little harder for local teams to do five straight nights.

Also Paragon's schedule isn't out yet so maybe we're waiting on that and a couple other things.

I hope they can get something together for this season. The aspect I enjoy the most about KISS is that you get to see a lot of drivers up north that don't typically venture up this way except for Indiana Sprint Week or if a series like MSCS makes a trip up to the northern part of the state.

Now that's interesting. When the Lburg schedule first came out, it in fact had a KISS date on it. I looked today and KISS is not mentioned anywhere.

This is a real bummer if its done.
This was a very good series and stood on its own. If there was a Kiss race, it went on my schedule.
Sad to see it go away.
In the past, it had good car counts and I have seen some very talented local guys run well in it. I recall very competetive racing. It's nice to see different grass roots teams get some well earned money for a change.

Is there any reason to think that maybe Indiana Sprint Car Series is going to televise and cover a schedule here? Just a thought...I know they picked up 6 races last year... I sure hope KISS isn't done but if ISCS (MAVTV) picks up where they left off then maybe it will balance out...dunno was just thinkin?! Heck who knows maybe things r still in the works and we get both...Have to wait and C I guess...Guess R A K was thinking same in above post..missed that

Was looking at the MSCS (Midwest Sprint Car Series) schedule and they always run THAT with KISS but noticed only MSCS on the schedule, also saw where it's paying 3 to win where all KISS pays is 2500 so kinda looks like to me no Kiss :7:

I thought Danny Burtorn took over running this last year? Maybe he can give us some insight???

The question has already, in effect, answered here. No KISS for now, but who can know what the future holds?

Well thanks Danny, Terry and I know there was at least one or two others who kept the series going till now.

They are shutting down for at least this year according to 2 people who are involved with the series

Interesting,K.I.S.S. has been around from 2001,why would it shut down, sponsors, promoters, car count?

Re: KISS series 2016?

I can see where it might be hard to work out dates for a 7 race series.

There are nearly 20 MSCS dates in Indiana this year, over 20 dates for USAC, BOSS ventures into Indiana 4-5 times. Think about the dates that USAC Silver Crown or midgets are running plus special shows like the Josh Burton Memorial. Finding 7 dates at 7 tracks could be a challenge.

I mean lets face it, we don't mind who is racing as long as there are 410s on the track, at least I don't. But people want to see the Shorts, Darlands, Windoms, etc.

I could see where they're coming from in that aspect.

mlamb 3/1/16 9:40 PM

I'd seen a lot of good KISS series racing in its tenure.
Seeing Jesse Hockett putting Bernie Stuebgen's Indy Race Parts #71 thru it's paces (C, B & A mains) at Paragon that one KISS show....Wow! Doubtful those there that night...will ever forget that drive!
