Haubstadt
I watched this site for quite sometime and never posted until now, but I got to do it now. After watching last night's race which was very good by the way until Hunter took Bland jr. out. They traded a few slide jobs of which were clean until the last one where Hunter put Bland into the wall. I sure hate to see a race won or lost like that. I sure hate to think it was planned on his part but it sure looked like it. Congrats on your win Hunter I hope it was worth it...

Re: Haubstadt
There were alot of slide jobs lastnight that were clean and some that were not . I do not believe in the track position that we were running it was an intentional thing.. I think that there were 2 good racers going for the same piece of realestate and neither was going to lift. There for it was a slide job gone bad.( I really can't say I wasn't in the car)
However get this... When did the crew become accountable for the way a driver performs out on the track? This brings me to say...Just when you think you know someone... you really don't. and it makes me sad because I had alot of respect and admiration for this family.. :( |

Re: Haubstadt
Yes the slide job looked bad because they touched bumpers, but my feelings on a slide job is the guy who is getting slid is in total control of what is going to happen..you can either get off the gas and go back under him or stay in the gas and touch which happened...if it was right rear to left front i would have blamed hunter but it was bumper to bumper which means he was clear but bland decided to stay in the gas..they are two very young and up and coming drivers and i respect both of them a great deal...they put on a heck of a show

Re: Haubstadt
Ask Josh Spencer (Sprint Week @ TSS) and Shane Cottle (Gas City) about clean slide jobs and passes by Hunter.

Re: Haubstadt
Yea the spencer pass was hunters fault and he admitted to it and the deal with cottle was his brake caliper was nearly hanging off so therefore didnt have any brakes

No Jake I was not saying that you werre talking about me.. I was just sharing a incident that happened to me at Haubstadt. Sorry for any confusion :headbang |
Re: Haubstadt
I have watched a lot of sprint races over the years I don't think any of these guys would ever take anyone out because of the risk of hurting someone very seriously. I think these guys are some of the bravest and most exciting anywhere and in may cases the most professional. I drive over 400 miles each way to see racing at this track because of the quality of the drivers and track. Next time someone wants to whine come down to my neck of the woods and watch late models chase each other and have to take each other out to win a race. You don't not what you have here.
I love to watch all the guys run at Haubstadt. I don't know any of them personally but I think they all put on one of the best shows going. I will try to be back in a few weeks to see the Hustler show. I saw the cars touch and just thought it was good hard racing on both drivers part. Tri-State fan for 32 years now. |
Re: Haubstadt
I was not at that race but ive had the pleasure of watching Hunter race at Kokomo and Gas city. He is a class act both on AND off the track and not the type of racer who intentionally wrecks another driver
