Re: Kokomo Klash - this Friday & Saturday 10/16 & 10/17
Too bad the Klash non wing is not Friday, October 23rd. Why is it always a conflict on where to go see sprint car racing (rescheduled WoO vs annual Klash). I guess I will flip a coin on Thursday to help me make my decision for Friday. Regardless, thanks to Dave and the O'Connors for two great shows to attend!

If you like the wings go to the Burg..if you like non wing go to kokomo! Either way both places will have great shows. Plus on Saturday you get USAC at the burg! Its a win win..a lot of places dont have the great options that we have on a weekly basis around here!

Re: Kokomo Klash - this Friday & Saturday 10/16 & 10/17
Couple of first timers headed to Kokomo on Friday any advice? Didn't know how early we could mark seats there and things like that. Do have a stop at the Half Moon Resturant scheduled after people have spoken so nicely about it on here and want to support those that support racing too!

Re: Kokomo Klash - this Friday & Saturday 10/16 & 10/17
Anyone know who might be there as far as 410 Non-Wing Sprints & Midget drivers?
Thanks in Advance. Haven't been there for the Friday night portion of the Kokomo Klash and plan on coming Friday. |

Re: Kokomo Klash - this Friday & Saturday 10/16 & 10/17
Wish someone would put results on here, some of us don't do twitter. Are we SOL. :D
|
Cottle won the feature over a hard charging Thomas Jr from 14th, coons, short, Jarrett, grant, shuman, Robbins, andretti, and colten cottle rounded out the top 10. Spencer, berryhill, dakus, dimattia, Miller, McGhee, mattox, bares, gurley rounded out the field. Darland was to start on the pole pushed out and stalled it and couldn't get refired. Thanks to everyone that braved this wonderful Indiana weather tonight. I will update midgets as well as they are pushing out now.

They are trying to keep the show moving..just a bunch of cars and wrecks!

Hines spins out coming to lap 1..total restart..
|
Spencer bayston wins a thriller in the midgets over Tracy Hines who had spun coming to complete lap 1. Hollingsworth, spiedel, Leary, hatton, prock, greth, Dickerson, and camfield rounded out the top 10. Cottle led the first 7 or so laps and pulled off and Justin peck inherited the lead. About 18 or so in peck bicycled pretty hard in 4 while leading and stopped on the back stretch and retired for the evening.
|
Darland car never sounded right when he came out for Feature. Sounded like they had a plug out then he stopped on front stretch and never restarted.
|
Re: Kokomo Klash - this Friday & Saturday 10/16 & 10/17
Darland had a lifter seize and they tried to take the rocker and push-rods off the cylinder, remove the spark wire and run the feature on seven cylinders, The car wouldn't fire so he pulled in.

Re: Kokomo Klash - this Friday & Saturday 10/16 & 10/17
Bad luck for Dave having engine trouble for the feature...as he looked pretty strong in the heat race. C.J. Leary also suffered mechanical woes and never got to race the sprint car either. On the bright side though, it was good we had a 1st class flagman last night or I would have really froze my butt off ! Thanks Brian. :9:

Re: Kokomo Klash - this Friday & Saturday 10/16 & 10/17
Congrats to Shane Cottle and Paul Hazen on the win last night. For those that couldn't attend, Shane dedicated the win to "his friend" and former competitor Tony Elliott in the victory lane interview. A class act from one helluva race car driver to another!
|
What an event in Kokomo. Around 160 cars the first night in the pits and around 180 on Saturday. I definitely will look to get down there next year for one or both of the nights.
