I hate that this race got moved to Labor Day weekend from its' traditional October date. I know we have had some weather problems a couple of times, but I have attended many midget races in early October at Tri-City, even before the Gold Crown came about, and always looked forward to the late season event. I won't be able to attend the Gold Crown this year due to other commitments. Hope the Gold Crown moves back to October next year.

Both classes $10K to win Saturday night?

The post above says that, but an earlier post on here says the MOWA sprint feature is $2000 to win on Saturday night.

I hate that I am missing my first Gold Crown, but with the weather the last couple of years, I understand the change. Hope it is a packed house. I have always had a great time at this race. The people at Tri City are great.

Not to mention one of the top notch facilities (if not THE top) in the state!

Looks like I might attend Friday night after all, but will hit LPS on Saturday, DuQuoin on Sunday...

Ron wouldn't you be better off driving wise and such to stay & attend both nights of the Gold Crown then go to Duquion?

Really looking forward to the Gold Crown. The Gundakers do a fabulous job of putting this show on. I hope every race fan gets out and supports this great event!

Well, now it looks like I won't be attending the Gold Crown on Friday night due to a problem with my car's steering and the lack of availability of my wife's car.....

Yes, but now I'm not attending any of the Gold Crown because of a problem with my car, and Earlene has to use hers this afternoon. So my itinerary is as follows: Friday: Haub Steak House; Saturday: LPS; Sunday; DuQuoin
Have some pretty serious steering issues with my Aurora and it can't be fixed before the weekend, so I'll just have get updates on the computer tonight. Hope Kevin moves the Gold Crown back to October next year; every freaking track in the universe is running this weekend.

Heats were tight racing. Qualifiers were good racing too. Don't know the passing point system, but show has been good!

How is the crowd?

Decent crowd, not great. Racing is great, though. A lot going on in the St. Louis area tonight.

great midget racing. audio could use some work. why in the h would this and Calistoga be on the same weekend? both big paying usac midget races. western midgets paying 10 grand both nights at Calistoga.

I'm usually shivering at this event. Tonight I'm sweating, lol.

Might have had more sprint cars if it were non-wing.

Thorson, Tmez, Buckwalter for the finish.

Robert Bell would of had 'em...if not for gremlins in the engine. I'm sure of it!

Why no Qualifying tonight?

I have no clue why no qualifying, but the racing was great from 1st heat to final feature. Track prep was spot on. Tonight has great promise based on last nights show.
