What a great entry list for the USAC Champ Cars at the Illinois State Fair this Saturday! Andy Hillenburg and staff doing a great job to get that car count back up.

Been looking forward to this for quite some time. The Morgans will be in the house to watch the crown cars on the dirt mile. :6:

Heading out with the camper and the boat for Springfield in the morning (Tuesday). Gonna' spend some much needed time relaxing on Lake Springfield and at The Illinois State Fair.

Racin' will consist of POWRi midgets Friday night at Lincoln, Saturday at The Springfield Mile for the Silver Crown race, Saturday night POWRi midgets at Mighty Macon and Sunday the ARCA stock cars on The Springfield Mile.

We look forward to this week, and especially race weekend at The Fair, all year long!

Now that it looks like the car count will be better than it's been for a few years let's show our support for all that Andy has done by getting a good crowd on hand for the Bettenhausen Memorial!!

Oh, how I wish I could join you again this year, my friend. Unfortunately, duty calls. I even have to miss the USAC Southwest Sprints/POWRi West midgets in my own backyard. Have a great week. You deserve it.

I'm going for first time in several years. Missed a few cause of kids activities and the diminished car counts the last several years kept me away. Hopefully the series is on a rebound with the large entry list

Can't wait!!! Springfield, Macon and back to Springfield for ARCA. Bummed we can't make Lincoln Friday night like we did last year.

I know it used to be top 20 from time trials & then 10 from a last chance race to start 30 cars. They haven't needed a last chance race in years due to lower counts so I don't know if that is still the format.

So, does this mean no Kunz cars running POWRI at Lincoln & Macon? It is a shame he doesn't have a ride in a champ car for Springfield.

The number 21 car owned by Mark Swanson has now named a driver for Springfield: it's "Hurricane" Randy Hannagan from San Jose, California. The last time Hannagan piloted a Silver Crown car was in 1998 at the Sacramento Mile!

He has said many times lately that he doesn't care for the champs cars.

That's weird, cause last summer on MRN they asked him what cars he would like to get into besides NASCAR, and he said he hoped to get a Silver Crown ride

He had a SC ride last year and quit it. Simply said he did it care for it.

Actually Christopher ran our #99 last year. He could not run with us this year as he is a Toyota driver and we run MOPARS at RPM. Hope to go racing with him again!!!:6::6:
