OT - Truck Race at Eldora - Where is Larson?

Looking over the entry list for the truck race tomorrow night, I noticed that Kyle Larson is not on there. I would have thought that after last year almost picking up the win, when his truck was practically used up he would be there this year. Guess i will have to pull for Norm Benning and Christopher Bell

My understanding for the almost debockel from the King's Royal.. he was told he should rethink his priorities. Which is to bad. I think I'll stick with the old stand by Mr. Schrader.. or a dark horse of Chad Boat.. Kenny can still wheel the hell out of a dirt car.

Kinda what I said....where are all the "DIRT" ringers at...Oh I know if you want to get a ride there for this race from the smallest team it's $70,000.00.....NOT AT ALL about talent... Robert Ballou...Rico Abreu...Bryan Clausen...Dave Darland..Scott Bloomquist...Earl Pearson Jr.....Donnie Schatz...Shane Stewart.... just to name a few and so many more.... but then again it is NASCAR....we do have Christopher Bell and Schrader to pull for....The "SHOW" from last year ain't even there...Larson

What debockel are you speaking of? Larson didn't drive in the king's royal.

Guess Kyle isn't suppose to watch dirt racing cuz that's all he did at the kings. Watched his team win :6:

hoosierhillbilly 7/21/15 4:32 PM

i would guess because he was at the kings till 5am and then raced at new hampshire.

I seen Larson interview after nascrap racing event and from what I heard him say was chip was not happy with him being out so late and said that he needs to be more focused on nascrap and he said that it is paying the bills and he will be have more attention on nascrap. Lol.

DirtHawk92 7/21/15 8:42 PM

I'll b rootin for C Bell and Bobby P.!!!

Nate 7/21/15 8:55 PM

Bell will get my vote. I went the first two years but I think I'll just watch from home from here on out until NASCAR decides to take out the windshields, get wider tires, and Tony gets his crew and NASCAR away from this "dry-slick" mindset.

If that track was prepared the way it's suppose to be with those heavy trucks on the half mile it would be wild. Every truck would look like Larson's did last year

There is no way that you could prepare a high banked track like Eldora, do time trials, heats, last chance all in the daylight with 3400# trucks and expect to have a sticky track for the feature. The track would be like concrete and there isn't any equipment around that could re-farm the track in a timely fashion. If you were to try and water constantly between races there is no way the TV ratings would hold as the NAPCAR fans wouldn't tolerate the down time.

A hard, slick track is the best you're ever going to get because it's the most practical surface to fit the NASCAR template on TV. Not saying whether that's good or bad, but it is what it is.

If you've watched some of the races in the cup series the last few years, I think you could argue that watching them prep the track at Eldora would actually increase ratings when compared to the entertainment value of some of the racing. They've had some good events, but some of them are 3-4 hours of garbage.

On a related note, I would be interested in seeing more tracks use the prep habits between races that Oakshade uses. It does seem to create some good racing and a quality surface for the entire evening.

Oh agreed. Some of those races when they are all strung out all the way around a 2 mile track and everyone is single file, may as well be classified as down time. However trying to explain that rationally would be lost on a NAPCAR fan.

Race is Wed Night @ 9Eastern on FoxSports1....

It's possible to RE-FARM the track in a timely fashion. Look at the BOON nationals in Iowa for the big modified race. They "Farm" the track in less than 15 min. every 7-8 races.. You can't tell me those yahoo's on tv can't find enough stuff to blow wind about in that time frame.. Lol

DirtHawk92 7/22/15 6:21 AM

Dang.... That hit close to home!! Lol it's Boone.. I grew up around there & my cousin still races there!! Yes Agree make quick work of it... Lol

The difference with Boone (and yes I have been there watch their prep) is that they refarm the track BEFORE it gets hard. Once the track gets hard, that's it. You drag whatever piece of equipment you want over it and it won't penetrate the surface. That reason alone is why dirt tracks run at night...

DirtHawk92 7/22/15 7:03 PM

Bobby Pierce Fasssst Time!!! Heck Yeah!!!
