It's just a fact. You put both of those premier classes on the same program and it's just hell on a track. Sprints and Midgets both lay a ton of rubber down on a racing surface. It's not the fault of the track prep crew. These guys all do as good as they can. Everybody wants to see a program that has both, so you have to take the bad with the good.

It slicked off but was fine. No real holes and good racing
Plus they got some rain last night so it really didn't come in right off of four. People were having problems with it all night as the cushion came down and never did slick through there Probably kinda hard to judge

I think I seen midgets running four wide and the top three sprints running under a blanket before the last yellow.

Could have called it with the 50% chance of rain they gave for today then you'd of seen nothin Glad they ran it. Heard a bunch of compliments. Except for some dirt the midway and under grandstand were as clean as when I got there at three oclock :)

Chuck, who had a blast.

DHayes818 6/14/15 8:55 AM

Track was black and the racing was flat out awesome. Thrilling features!

Tumey's 55 6/14/15 9:18 AM

If the racing was good I wouldn't complain about the color or how slick it looked. I have seen a lot of heat races on heavy tracks that were hammer down with no passing. I will take the close racing. As Jerry said, with midgets and sprints it will slick over. I would prefer they run the program rather than take an hour to do more prep.

OK it started out as a day race with very hot conditions. The track di exactly what dirt race tracks do in the day time when things get hot. The racing was excellent with 20+ very good race cars and drivers. They made the best with what they had. When that darned sun went down the track recovered nicely and that feature was very racy.

Dirt race tracks are like the weather in Indiana >>>>if you don't like it today come back tomorrow I guarantee it will be different.:5::5::5:

Honest Dad himself:6::6:

Why were there so many sprints in the feature?

The promoter opted to start all (and pay all) who were good to go in the feature, rather than have "B-Mains to eliminate 4 or 5 cars. They did likewise for the midgets and modifieds.

you don't see that at most tracks. they want that all mighty dollar!!! a happy car owner is most likely a repeat customer...:6:

Re: The rumors true!!!

I love consi's However to eliminate 1 or two cars especially on a late running show is ridiculous Burg has stated they will start up to 23 EVERY WEEK if that's the number they get. Last night was a exception and he added four more vs sending seven cars home with with 18 total laps a hundred bucks. I don't know how the drivers felt about it. After a couple early spins the racing went mostly green and the battle for the lead in all that traffic between KT, Leary and Tmez was BREATHTAKING!

The Scientist 6/14/15 12:47 PM

How come at Eldora nothing at the concession stand is over $3.50, when is Lawrenceburgs $1 beer and and food night like Florence, why was a pit pass at Lawrenceburg $45 for the outlaws?

Agreed, Also, How do you get better? MAKING LAPS! If you broke in your heat and got eliminated in the consi. All you got were a dozen or so laps and not even your tow bill paid. I seen a lot of great outstanding drivers and some first timers.

Love to see em all again vs being pissed they spent a ton of money and hardly got to race at all and not coming back! :) As one of the drivers told me last night. It can be a hell of a lot of fun to race another racer or two for tenth and thats why we do it. There can only be one victor.

Panama 6/14/15 1:01 PM

Why is it some (insert personal insult) complian about everything, and never put their name to it?

Personally, I love The 'Burg, and if I don't like the prices on pit gates or concession stand, I would just stay home and not whine about track conditions or food prices and ect ect ect!

Sick of whinners!

Guess you didn't see that 9 dollar burger Eldora was selling a couple years ago :)
The answer is volume. Eldora sells a lot more at a little less. It is nice however to be able to get some Wings and fries for a five dollar bill. However I did get the Chili Cheese fries at Burg last night and beats the heck out of those cardboard fries at E.

As for Florence I've only gone to two burg races this year and at least five people have told me they can't do their special shows. anymore at Florence and were at Burg instead. Long time Florence Racers and fans.

Burg offered I believe advanced ticket sales for 35 bucks that included a reserve seat in the main grandstand and pit pass for WoO. at least they did last year. I've been to some tracks where 40 was the front gate price for WoO

The Scientist 6/14/15 1:09 PM

The rescheduled outlaws race in October will probably be snowed out

DirtHawk92 6/14/15 1:32 PM

Kudos and props to Dave Rudisell as the promoter at Lawrencebrurg for starting AND PAYING all the sprint cars and modifieds that showed up to support him last night. That definitely cost him some $$, but it is a class act and supports those that support him. He should be applauded for his support of the racers!

The Scientist 6/14/15 4:52 PM

Why doesnt Lawrenceburg run this Saturday the KISS race that was rained out

Sandy Lowe 6/14/15 5:39 PM

Re: The rumors true!!!

Part of the KISS rules that all promoters follow is that rained out KISS races are never made up.

Why you don't take up a different form of racing and stop ******** about the one we all love. Reading your posts is worse than having a mosquito bite on my balls.

I couldn't agree more! The Scientist has made 36 posts, and practically every one has been annoying or shows a lack of knowledge about open wheel races and how they are conducted.

Correct me if I'm wrong and I know someone will, but there is an ignore option on this board, and it works.

Tumey's 55 6/15/15 11:09 PM

I just watched the Burg sprint feature on Jackslash. No doubt the track was slick but that was an exciting feature. No reason to complain about that race.

treecitytornado 6/15/15 11:16 PM

The track was fun to race on when it was slick from top to bottom; then it took rubber about halfway through. It was much faster, but a lot harder to pass and much much harder on tires. I along with many of my fellow competitors junked both rear tires and worked the right front very hard too. That was the only drawback to the night of racing! I had a ton of fun passing cars from the back, but wish it wouldn't have took rubber because I could've picked off a few more.
