Re: Sprint Cars at Twin Cities Sat
Who's planning on being down there this Saturday? USAC/MSCS at Tri-State, LPS and the Burg running also...hope they get enough cars to make it a show.
|
We will be in good shape, Steve. Several Paragon regulars and some Burg competitors look to be in the house. Solid payback throughout the Top 10 and Open Tire Rule too!
|
Guess what day it is!!! It's Hump Day and only 3 days till the thunder of some 410 Non-Wing Sprint Cars invade Twin Cities Raceway Park for the first time in over 3 years! Open Practice tonight from 5-8 pm; for anyone wanting to break in a new car or try some set-ups. Pits Open at 330 and only $15 to get in!
I'll see everyone this Saturday night! Thanks! |
Re: Sprint Cars at Twin Cities Sat
Are you involved in the promotion JT?
|
Re: Sprint Cars at Twin Cities Sat
i think everyone wants an answer to that!!!!!;)

I worked to get the 9 Sprint shows on the schedule, the purse breakdown for the money I was given to work with, lined up Bloomington push trucks when Bob Gompf's crew is at Lawrenceburg; otherwise they have commited to be at Twin Cities Raceway Park for the other shows we have. I lined up and called many owners and drivers who plan to support our deal and worked to keep it Open Tire; which it is. I also made sure we have a good race track, by getting someone who knows how to prep a track; Pete Abel. Pete worked the track in 2001 and always had a great track for us to race on! Rick Robinson and his crew will run a professional show and make it enjoyable for everyone!
Looking forward to Saturday Night! Thanks and I'll see everyone there! |
Re: Sprint Cars at Twin Cities Sat
Its your deal I have no horse in the game but I wondered why you didn't run the 5 Fridays that neither Bloomington or Gas City are running. 5-1, 6-5, 7-24, 8-7 and 9-11 have no sprint cars running ANYWHERE in Indiana. Just thought it would make sense to take these dates. You wouldn't have to recruit drivers from other tracks and would at least get most of the Bloomington regulars I would guess. I havent been there since the last time they had the NO Way Out there have the fences been replaced?
|
Technically kiss is at gas city 5/1 lol..but I wish this show nothing but success and hope they get a great car count and fans in the stands.

Some times I have a hard time understanding people. It's another track that's trying to run sprint cars. It's a track people can choose to go enjoy a evening of racing.
Instead there is people already complaining. I have a idea. Let's be glad it's another choice. Go out and support a track any track. They Close faster than they open. |
Re: Sprint Cars at Twin Cities Sat
My motor's not ready, but I will be there supporting. Thanks Twin Cities, an Thanks JT.:8:

Re: Sprint Cars at Twin Cities Sat
I think what he is saying is the sprint car count is struggling, lets face it a lot of tracks run sprints on a saturday, (Not a bad thing), but for a max car count for their track those friday dates would be perfect. But I guess that is why we aren't running a track lol.
|
Re: Sprint Cars at Twin Cities Sat
It's not too late to re-think your dates. On those Fridays I think you would get a lot more fans as well as more cars. Just saying.
|
Re: Sprint Cars at Twin Cities Sat
The fence has been replaced in several areas and more cables added. We are sticking with the Saturday dates. It's tough to draw big crowds on Fridays; especially when we are not a regular Friday Night track. We are running a few Friday Special events for Late Models, etc. Sprints Cars will be the Saturday portion of a 2-Day show on Saturday July 11th.

Also, check the thread on Thunder Valley. The attitude there seems to be; "oh no, not FRIDAYS !". Of course, I KNOW it would be best if they ran on Tuesdays! :D Seriously, it's their money they're risking so I'm sure they're going with what they think is best, and I wish them well. |
Re: Sprint Cars at Twin Cities Sat
Was he complaining are was he making a point?
|
Re: Sprint Cars at Twin Cities Sat
Im staying out of this except to say that when the tracks that pay decent don't get decent counts and start cutting purses. You've essentially shot yourselves in the foot. Like someone said, There isn't a problem running. Just the dates. It might not be the bulk of the fans that would go to TCRP but fans and teams from other tracks would visit if it wasn't running against their home track.
|
We are looking forward to Saturday. Talked to more drivers that will be there. Myself, Drew Abel, Logan Hupp, David Applegate, Jake Scott, Tyler Courtney, Pat Giddens, Bradley Sterrett, just to name a few.

Re: Sprint Cars at Twin Cities Sat
In all seriousness, last night at Bloomington talking to much of IOW's intelligentsia, the discussion turned to North Vernon, and having a race on the Fridays with absolutely no opposition, from any other track in Indiana running sprint cars. So far they have turned a blind eye to the thought of it,but why not try at least one of the dates to see if it is feasible? Tonight, for example, there are 4 options for sprint cars, and I cant be at 4 places at once. On a Friday without any other choices for sprints in Indiana,I'd be more inclined to head down that way.
Either way, good luck in the endeavour..... |
$15 is a KIDS PIT PASS, just read! Thanks. See everyone in a few!
|
Updates please.
|
I also would like to see up dates. I fully have planned to be there tonight. We just couldn't get the car finished in time.
