MSCS at Flora IL
 

Anybody got any idea who might be at Flora Sat night for the MSCS show?
I keep hearing there are some other series running but don't see any results or comments on here about them.
Like to know if Brady Short, Jeff Bland Jr, Truckers team or maybe Hunter Scherenberg might be there?

Earlier posted on the IOW forum was a list of possibilities. Kevin Briscoe said he would be there and his son Chase would also race if age was cleared. Chase Stockon will also be there. You can bank on Kyle Cummins the MSCS point leader and Ricky Williams Jr., second in points and top Rookie. Also expected is Kevin Thomas Jr., Jerry Ruble, Alex Shanks, Blake Fitzpatrick, John Memmer, Jack Gilbert, John Irwin, Mitch Wissmiller, Kyle Wissmiller, Chris Urish, Donnie Brackett, Dale Christian, John Boyd, Erik Folger, D. J. Ott, the Krockenbergers, Randy Bateman, A. J. Anderson, Craig and Patrick Budde, and other Illinois racers. Top ten in MSCS points not listed above are, Thomas Messeraul, Robert Ballou, Daron Clayton, John Stanbrough, Chad Boesflug, Jeff Bland Jr., Brady Short.

Seriously.... everyone have fun tonight! We would like to be there... budgets are tight and we had to stay in Indiana today. I hope the whole MSCS crew has a smooth night tonight! Drivers and fans too!!!

I'm about to head that way, did not see Hud's name at the crown race so that might mean we will see him at Flora.

The actual address is 7003 Hickory Hill Lane, Flora, IL. Try Googling that address for directions from your location. It is near Hwy 45.

I'm getting ready to walk out the door and the way I'm going is by taking 41 to Vincennes and then take US 50 all the way across to Flora..then the track website says the track is located about 2 miles north of US 50 on US 45 and sits on CR20(700 North).

Boespflug told us it was not worth risking permanent blindness to race. He misses it and thats to be expected.

All I know is that Mitch Wissmiller won a heat race. I will see if I get some more information.

I was told for sure Short and Briscoe won heats, but didn't really get any other info. I'm not really sure how many more updates I'll be getting, but if I get another call I will post. However with the time zone difference I may not still be up if the race goes long.

Krockenbergers as in plural, Fogler, Craig Budde, Ruble, Boyd, Brackett, Bateman, Gerhart?... Not a complete list, but these are cars in the B. Its lining up now... Taking 4 to the feature.

They are in an intermission right now. I should get a call after the A Main. I was told that the heat winners were Memmer, Cramer, Short and Wissmiller.

stoppage for an ambulance to transport a fan. however i guess they got an ambulance back quicker than they thought as they were already getting ready to go.

Wissmiller just got spun out by Stockon. Short leads then Cramer, Stockon and Memmer. Not sure on lap count.

Memmer had a flat tire. Cramer is out of the race.

Kyle kept going backward, around 12th or 13th, they missed the setup on the car. I spoke to a lot of the drivers went they stoped at Denneys in Vincennes. After 30 laps the rear tires looked like drag slicks, the track was burning up the tires. I was told by an MSCS official the track had the largest crowd in attendence in the last three years. No problem with dust. MSCS will be back 6 Sept.

I believe it's Stockon, the same as his grandfather, Sam, who started MSCS in 2001 on his Social Security check and a dream.

The track is nice size and was glad to see a good car count especially in IL. for the sprints and the fans supported the show well. But I hope that the track is prepped a lot better for the september show because black slick follow the leader does not make for a good race.That feature was like the ump late model follow the leader summer national series racing that is typical in IL dirt tracks.

Reports on track conditions are really not surprising as they just don't run anything other than modifieds and crates very often. I think its been 4 or 5 years since they had a late model show. Hopefully the track continues to run the specials and will figure out the track prep down. I know when I lived in Olney that I certainly would have attended the track much more if they would run MSCS, Powri, or late models.
