I think that the guy who writes the check should have a lot of say on how we dress to race. If that is what he and his crowd like I would vote in his favor. We do put on a pretty good show either way.:)

The MMSA is setting right in the HEART of non-wing Sprint car country, so to me it would be a no brainer. MMSA could be a spring board to the full non wing sprints and a place for those that do not have the residual income to afford a big car or do I dare say go ahead and open your mind and look at all the options that you have. Racers will race no mater if you have a wing or not as long as you can keep it affordable....I know I am very bias but look at your demographics.

Again think about the next 3-5 years ahead of you (MMSA) and the direction you want this to go. Keep an open mind and go with what you as the owner of the series feel is best for the series as a whole

To many race tracks we are the new kid in town. Chandler has given us a bunch of dates and I want to accommodate the guy in charge. I am not an owner of MMSA just, an old fart with an opinion. Andy is the guy in charge and he makes the deals and decisions. We like racing sans wing also but if the promoter thinks he can sell more ticket with wings I am on his side. I don't think we have been down their wingless but we only made one show and remember tearing my head of on Alex's side board when standing up after looking at his ecm.

We like racing any way you do it.

If we haven't run wingless over there I would sure love to show him one race just how we look without our upper support. It is an all new ballgame.

With the closing of Bakersfield there is roughly 6-10 cars floating around that will not put a wing on their car that have not been running with us. We have always had a split demographic when it comes to this discussion. We have around 10-15 guys who will run both wing and non. There are 15 or so that will run non wing only and a seperate 15 that will run only wing.. If they would all show up we would pull 30 plus cars a night every night. I understand we have to do what the promoters want to do to an extent but we have to do what's good for the series above all priorities. The Facebook poll showed members prefered a mix of races. I think the car counts will actually be better in the southern part of the state non wing. We will work with our promoters but I think when they see the non wing numbers there mind might change.

The first time I went to Salem to watch AJ race there were 20 cars n the track 19 of them had wings 1 did not. That was Tony. Well I bought a sponsorship and got him a wing to put my add on, It did not help a bit.:5::3: Guess it was wings optional back then? Come to think about it some of them guys was shifting gears going down the straights then downshifting for the turns.

The last time we raced down at backersfield it was 600cc cars with wings, time goes by so fast when you are having fun.

Andy knows what's best and in my opinion I think andy knows what I prefer but I think that a class like ours should stay neutral and stay with running a balanced schedule.. wings made our class and I think it's cool our cars can be ran with or without ... it's a great add to our class. But in my opinion and I mag get shot on here for this non wing numbers in the sprint cat world are decreasing and Wing numbers are increasing throughout the country... call it what you want many reasons why but I'm all for diversity and running both... non wing bI'll rings and throw in a few 1/4 miles and then throw the wings on and let's work on our smoothness both styles of rracing are very different and teach us all how to be a better driver wwhich is why for our your guns it needs to stay diverse.. what u think dad and andy

I like your style kiddo. I can remember when you whispered lets take the wings off. It took a giant leap of faith for one guy to step up and say to a promoter do you want to try us without wings. I remember because I bought some sponsorship to indorse the deal. We are Midgets and Midgets work great on small tracks without wings. We are also an entry level class, and wings help iron out some of them ruff spots when a guy is just strapping into one of these things for the first time. I can still remember one of the first non wing shows we raced a local Hot Shoe who is now a professional racer brought his really hot Mini Sprint down into turn one after the green flag was dropped for hot laps, he threw it in turn one like he was used to doing and I'll be darned that big old side board wasn't there to hold him up and he laied it right over over on its side right in front of the home town crowd.:5:;)

Racing is good either way, I think our problem is some of us think like teenagers. "Hump I'm too good of a driver to need them things".

For some unknown reason promoters even in Indiana prefer Wings. I would think they feel that the crowd can better identify us with what they see on TV Winged sprint cars. Don't get too many non wing TV shows

Correct. Rick Robinson is the new promoter.

I loved the race at Haubstadt last year! I:d like to see a winded race and a non wing race then let fans voice which one third race should be :8:

Thanks. >>>>> A lot of folks don't appreciate us for what we are. Pound for pound and dollar for dollar we are one of the most competitive forms of open wheel racing out there. Perhaps because of our appearance (we look dead like a Midget) or performance (we are as fast as most Midgets) people equate us with high dollars. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am racing for penny's on the dollar when compared to the open wheel modified cars we shared the track with, and we were getting around there as fast of faster than they were. If guys were wanting to get involved in racing these little cars are the way to do it. Just go to the classified section and see what is available. Once you get by the high and mighty ads by people who either got carried away when building a car or the ones just out trolling for a buyer you will find a lot of cars and operations cheaper than a modified motor and many of them are capable of racing up front with the right people in charge.

Wings vs non wing is an age old battle. The way we look at it is either way we are racing and enjoying ourselves, at this point in time what difference does it make. A racer that says he will only race one one way or the other is not much of a racer in my book. We have the option now of racing either way, when we started out we did not have nor did we want that option. If it meant my car had to set in a garage with garage dust all over it or have it come come home with that marvelous Haubdtsadt engineered dirt or that Chandler River Bottom Dirt on it I would beg borrow or steal a wing>>> if that is what they wanted for me to race with.

AND you are right>>>> lets race what the crowd out front wants us to race. They make it possible for that other guy to write us a check.
