Every time I have gone the feature order is midgets, sprints, and then silver crown. Its also a 50 lap feature for the silver crown cars unless its changed.

WoO Friday night. (1st crown of the 4?)

I think they should go back to running the mods as one of the crown classes not just a support class for woo since I believe the woo have a race the following night give them a chance to capture all four like good ole jack did

Didnt Jack do it in a late model?

I so very much miss the old Four Crown. It's still one of my top 3 events of the year, but I do miss seeing Hewitt, Darland, and Hines wheeling a Mod!

I don't mind the WoO, but if they gotta be a part of this event (supposedly the first "Crown"), then why not make them conform to the old format? Offer some incentives for some cross-pollination between the WoO and USAC. Then what we'd have on our hands is a true EVENT!

I know I'll get shot down by someone who will, in short order, tell me why it won't work, or that it's a dumb idea, but I can dream, right?

WWED? (What Would Earl Do?) :9:

Earl tried everything he could with this event to make it successful. Even went to a all four for ten grand format and then cancelled it one year in favor of the Mopar Million which he promised to make happen and did. And then reverted to the 4 crown.

One problem the mods gave was only a handful could get a ride and a ton showed up to take part. Before that it was Late Models.

All throughout though At most there were a half dozen who could field all classes. Before 2011 I hadn't attended since the late 90s

The problem has always been Friday night and Tony found a way to get a good crowd with the WoO and a portion of that fan base stayed for Saturday, High School and College Football just seem to eat a good chunk and you need a side show to bring em in

Just my opinion Winged racing is hard racing, Just not my style of racing. So Side show is my term.

I remember when it was the USAC stock car series as the fourth crown. They were similar to the ARCA dirt cars today. The fourth crown has kind of went away since that series folded. I don't remember open wheel guys running the stock cars back then, but that was a long time ago.

I was there for the first one and most since unless work prohibited my attendance. My favorite event of the year. Would be great if they could get the outlaws and usac to interact more but not holding my breath for that. Happy to see the outlaws for my only time of the year. Wouldn't mind bringing the late models back. Maybe jack would run one of them too! He was always fast in them.
