Pray for good weather.
|
Re: smackdown
this bus will be leaving PA Wednesday around 3am from ( Lancaster-Lebanon) making stops at Wright Patterson Museum and White Castle then Kokomo!
|
Weather is making the drive look iffy......
|
Re: smackdown
This is Indiana in the summertime so the weather can change in the blink of eye, if your driving here for a 3 day event 1 more day won't hurt.
|
Re: smackdown
I am going rain or shine!
|
Re: smackdown
1450 miles 2 races 2 rain outs I'm headed that way still!
|
We're heading that way Wednesday morning, but I sure hope the camping area isn't too wet!
|
Obviously if it rains it will be a different story but drove by yesterday and there were already a few campers in the lot and pretty dry..looking forward to Thur.. Hopefully mother nature plays nice :)

Re: smackdown
The MotoGP weekend was supposed to be a wash with Friday and Saturday 80% chance. It didn't rain until Sunday late. Just saying lets be optimistic. :23:
|
Re: smackdown
The weather's trending better for the weekend now, as long as we don't get too much rain this week. It's going to be hot as hell, though.

Re: smackdown
I'm freaking out whether to cancel my flight.... Weather Channel makes me want to cancel, looks like rain every day, National Weather Service makes it look better.....like we have a decent chance
What are the local stations saying??? |
Depends on who you watch. Looks like a chance everyday until Saturday. Then its going to be hot and sticky.
|
Re: smackdown
"Global Warming" people are saying just "Freak Out" everyday, man!!!
|
Re: smackdown
Weather channel is saying 80% chance of rain on Thursday and Saturday. Partly cloudy on Friday. Would they use sunday night as a rain date?

Sunday is a planned rain date, if needed. Reece has been nothing but confident leading up to the event, and I'd say Kokomo Speedway will pull out all the stops to complete the scheduled races this weekend. It may not be a perfect schedule, and it may take Sunday, but it will happen. Don't make the mistake of missing out. The races where they have had to fight weather have turned out to be some of the best they've had, and that bar is set pretty high.

Re: smackdown
We are in a summer weather system. Showers develop with day time heating. It is going to be hot and humid, with storms developing during the hot part of the day. The key will be that they don't hang around a long time. Hopefully we get lucky
|
Starting our smackdown at noon Thursday at Halfmoon and looking forward to a great 3 day visit. Hope all race teams and fans have a great time.
|
Gonna try to take in the Halfmoon for lunch on Thursday, before heading to the track, how's their ipa?

Re: smackdown
There is absolutely no way to know if rain is going to affect anything this weekend. Scattered rain chances means exactly what it says. There’s a chance it might rain, there’s a chance it might not rain. If there is rain, how much and the timing is really all that matters. There were a couple days last week where it rained 20 miles away from me, and I didn’t see a drop on any of those days. You can’t predict where it MIGHT rain. I went to an IndyCar/USAC double at Richmond, VA one year. There was a 90% chance of rain on race day. It was literally raining 10 miles from the track in every direction. Didn’t see a drop of rain all night, it was like we were in a rain free vortex. The only place it matters is the plot of land Kokomo Speedway sits on, no way to know if that gets rain.
If I based my racing on forecasts, I’d see pretty much 0 races every year. If you’re looking for what local Indy weather said, Thursday has the highest chance of rain. Friday and Saturday better. Saturday looks to be the driest. |
Re: smackdown
The forecast its self is still changing..i have seen something different from every weather station out of indy, although what we get indy may not get and vice versa. Tomorrow doesnt look the greatest but I am still planning on being at Kokomo Speedway watching a race, will that happen..won't really know until tomorrow. Last summer for midget week at Gas City there were thunderstorms all around the place and a 80% chance of rain and we got the entire night in..anything is possible in this state..just continue to hope for the best :).

Re: smackdown
:( Daggone weather. I just hope that we all haven't made motel reservations, and bought 3 day tickets, just to come up there and sit in the motel and watch it rain 2/3 of the program out. I'll be there, but phooey on Mother Nature.
|
Re: smackdown
I haven't been over to Kokomo since Sprint Week and the weather then looked just as shady however they got it in and in my opinion it was some of the best racing I've seen this season. Kokomo is one of the best tracks in the country when it comes to getting shows in.
|
It's not a local show at paragon don't you all think that there is going to be a lot effort in racing this event, even if it means late nights or two races in a day... Etc. did anyone see the Knoxville nationals forecast ??
|
Re: smackdown
I probably know more about weather than anybody I know and I think the rain is going to track south of Kokomo about 4 or 5 miles.:17:Then again maybe not.Either way I ll be there
|
Sunday is a rain date should it be needed
|
Watching the weather on the news and it looks promising to get all 3 nights in.
|
Re: smackdown
I went to Macon Illinois in May for a POWRI show with 0% chance of rain and it rained out. So I say every show is 50/50. LOL
