Re: Paragon Speedway-Chuck Amati Classic 68
This has always be a great race at beautiful Paragon Speedway. The track has had nothing but great reviews from drivers since it was reworked several weeks ago. This is a must see for the holiday weekend. If you have never attended a race at Paragon give it a shot, you will be surprised how great the racing is.:8::8:

Re: Paragon Speedway-Chuck Amati Classic 68
Ford's obviously did a lot of work on the track, because it was in a lot better shape than it was for the KISS race. Fast around the top and stayed that way all night. This didn't bode well for everyone else, though, because the heat race showed that Stanbrough would be flying around this place, in it's current condition. When the feature came, Jon started to check out, until Brady Short worked his way though the top 5, to the runner up spot. From that point on, the chase was on. In a way, it seemed like Jon was being chased by a younger version of himself. He shadowed Jon for about 50 laps or so, before he made his move, in earnest. When he did, he was close on several occasions and would reel him in when they would get to turn 4, but Stanbrough was just too fast coming out of turn 2 and would repeatedly escape. He threw everything he had at him, but it just wasn't enough. Jon closed the show and took home the trophy.
It was a beautiful night weather wise, with great friends at one of the classic Indiana racing environments. And the great Chuck Amati was honored and should never be forgotten. They need to have a Bob Kinser Classic there someday, too. He was so much a part of what made this place great, as well. Jerry |

It was great to see cars running on the top and bottom at Paragon International Super Speedway again.

What year was that blue 44? Loved that car
|
Got to agree with monkeyboy, that blue 44 had my attention when on the track. I was pulling for him to make the show.
