Midwest Sprint Car Series invades Clay County Speedway this Saturday night July 5th gates open at 4:30 drivers meeting 6:30 hot laps 7 racing begins at 7:30 cst.
$2000 to win non wing sprints...along with the UMP modifieds, pure stocks, UMP B-mods, and hornets.

The website doesn't list the ticket price for this event that I can find. Normally it is $10 for the weekly show. What is the price for this weekend?

if I can keep the cars of the track long enough......freshly painted walls Saturday night.. just in time before 4 cars hit the track at dark to shake them down....Sunday came around with 6 cars for all day with class instructors with 2 hours of class and 5 hours of on track experience!

Track has been very good all season and has been great the last few races, many drivers taking time to email, text, or call to give me the courtesy of saying "job well done."

Really looking forward to this event, thanks to all in advance!

I will be updating the web on both tracks tonight, Clay County and Chandler Motor Speedway...Prices this Saturday will be $15 for ages 13 and older and $5 for ages 12 and under...thanks for keeping me on my toes :22:

sprints will run feature first as they do each week, however they hot lap and run heat second right behind the UMP modifieds, it just seems to work best that way.

Clay County Speedway is in Flora IL on Highway 50, track is located 2 miles north on Highway 45.

For those of you not familiar with the area. As you take Highway 50 West, you will go through Flora. On the West side of town, there is a Stoplight at the Walmart. Highway 45 is the 4 way stop sign that is just West past Walmart.

i was asked about track provisional, in talks with MSCS officials on how this will be handled. Will announce!

Tomorrow night! Don't miss it guys , sounds like some suprise racers may be showing up to do battle! This is a very fast, racy joint! Support your local dirt track!

Ballou said on twitter/facebook he is off to Flora Saturday, but that is only thing I've heard for sure. Ballou was hard charger at LPS tonight and always puts on a good show wherever he goes so I'll be there to root on the Madman in Flora!

Wish I could go, but I have a rain check for the Summer Nationals at Highland from last year. Hope it goes great, and that I get a chance to see the MSCS guys at Flora in the future.

Ballou has that machine of his dialed in right now. And at a good part of the year with Sprint Week coming up soon. Three in a row and 6 Grand Richer. Stockon, in the Gentry machine, came close in traffic several times but could never pull the trigger. Track got faster and also racier as it rubbered up over the length of the race. But it was an even rubbering from top to bottom so cars were searching for their best line around. At the conclusion these cars were flying around this 3/8 mile speedplant. Cummins with another solid top 5 performance in the family owned machine. Good battles throughout the field with Farney and Bland exchanging sliders a few times. Beautiful weather and a Thumbs Up goes out to the Staff and Track Crew and Management at Clay County Speedway as this place has the makings of a real Gem! Big Crowd, Smooth track, Quality field of cars, Good Food, Minimal dust. And no BS track run attitude. 15 bucks admission, Can't beat it. Run program thru. Got home at a decent hour. Thanks Kevin!
