Headed that way with the 2E in tow.

Chris Nunn 6/27/14 3:47 PM

Bill I'm not sure. I'm thinking it might be race monitor.

Bill Gardner 6/27/14 3:54 PM

I don't know anything about race monitor. I thought Speednet charged something like $100 / year for the mobile lineups&results.

Re: Bloomington Sheldon Kinser Memorial Updates

Tonights live timing and scoring will be on the Race Monitor app. And you can visit here at https://www.race-monitor.com/

Tonights race will be listed under "Sheldon Kinser Memorial" I will find out for sure if it will be one of the "Free Races" on there. If not then youll need a subscription to Race Monitor to view them. 99 cents for a monthly, and $4.99 for a yearly.

Here is the direct link to tonights timing and scoring. https://www.race-monitor.com/Live/Race/18187

Brady Short and Jeff Bland commandeered one of the push trucks and took a lot of laps helping pack in the track. Currently waiting on Sprint cars to come out and help finish the packing process.

Re: Bloomington Sheldon Kinser Memorial Updates

Dave Darland and Hunter Scheurenberg made up the front row for the 40 lap main event. Darland shot under Scheurenberg on the first turn, and slid up over the turn two banking, losing numerous positions. Luckily for Darland, the caution would fly for Brandon Mattox in turn two, rendering a complete restart. On the restart, Darland shot to the topside to take the lead and would lead lap one over Scheurenberg and Daron Clayton. Behind them, Nick Bilbee and CJ Leary would dice back and forth for the fifth spot. Back up front, Brady Short would move around Clayton for the third position. The caution flew again on lap five as Casey Shuman slowed. When action resumed, Shane Cottle moved around Clayton to take fourth. Disaster would strike Scheurenberg as he would slow to a stop in turn one, giving up his second position. On the restart, Dalten Gabbard hopped the right rear tire of another car and took one of the worst flips ever seen at Bloomington Speedway. Amazingly, Gabbard immediately hopped out of the car and waved to the crowd signaling he was ok. When racing finally resumed, Short would attempt to move around Darland for the lead, but Darland was too strong off the topside. Behind them Cottle and Clayton resumed their battle for the third position, with Cottle taking the spot. Darland began to put distance between he and Short, throwing three lapped cars between he and Short. Back behind them, Clayton would move back around Cottle for the third spot with a masterful move splitting cars in lapped traffic. By the lap 30 mark, Darland held over a three second advantage over Short, as Clayton began to fall backwards, losing third to Jon Stanbrough. Jeff Bland Jr then moved under both Clayton and Stanbrough to take third from his 17th starting spot. Up front, however, Darland was in complete cruise control winning his second Sheldon Kinser Memorial over Short, Bland, Stanbrough, and Cottle.

Re: Bloomington Sheldon Kinser Memorial Updates

Tonight was just Dave Darland's night. First off, he was the winner of the "Somebody Up There Likes Me Award" when he slid off the top of the berm in turn two, dropped back a bunch of spots, but was saved when someone else simultaneously bought out the yellow. On the restart, he jumped out to the early lead, with Hunter Schuerenberg in tow. He fought him off, then after Hunter broke, he was chased down by Brady Short and had to fend him off. But the way he did it was the move of the night. They approached lapped traffic and Dave just made a super aggressive move on multiple lapped cars and was then off. After that, the rout was on. But the race wasn't over, in fact it was just about to heat up. Second through seventh, from that point on, was just like a big free-for-all. Short, Clayton, Cottle, Stanbrough and Leary just went at it. Lap, after lap, after lap the running order would change. And in the end, all of them but Short would be caught and passed by the hard charging Jeff Bland, who had to transfer out of the B-main and had started in the back. Clayton was flying around the top, brakes ablaze, looking like he was getting ready to blow up, before he faded in the end. But he was sure fun to watch before that. And Brady ran a hell of a race, but just ended up having nothing for the People's Champion, who was in a league of his own tonight.

Great night on the Bloomington hillside with all the Bloomington regulars and a few guests who picked a good night to come visit. Long live the memory of the great Sheldon Kinser.

Jerry

I have to agree with Jerry, is was just Daves night. That could be the fastest I have seen that track, in the heats they were not lifting at all and passing was tough. As for Gabbards flip, one of the wildest I have seen in person. Glad I chanced the weather made the 2 hr drive.
