FRIDAY 13th Bloomington Speedway USAC Indiana Midget Week

http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...psafe03b12.jpg

This Friday June 13th at the Bloomington Speedway, can Bryan Clauson back up last years win, or will young Chris Bell continue his winning streak in the powerful Keith Kunz midget. How many drivers will be doing the double, running their USAC Midget and then hoping in to a sprint car to battle the locals.
Last years Sprint car feature winner was Brady Short, will one of the USAC drivers like Dave Darland (who is doing the double) challenge him, or will it be Jeff Bland who is on his own hot streak here lately?

Last years UMP Modified feature winner was Derek Groomer, can he repeat or will we have another new winner in the UMP Modifieds?
This is going to be one of the top 3 events at Bloomington this season! Don’t miss this spectacular show of USAC Midgets, ServoPro Sprints and Rick’s Automotive UMP Modifieds, it is going to be a GREAT show you DO NOT want to miss!

General Admission is $20.00 and Pits $30.00. The pit gate will open at 4:00 pm for this event. General admission gates at 5:30.

After last weeks "delay" improvements are in order IMO.

Chris Nunn 6/9/14 7:06 PM

The delay turned out to be worth it. I'll wait a bit for a damn good track surface if it works out

Panama 6/9/14 8:26 PM

The management and the owners have addressed this issue, and I have serious doubts the same problem, for the same reasons will occur again, ever.

If there is anything good that can be said about the mistake, it was made in an effort to keep the track racey for the fans and less abrasive for the car owners.

I can excuse mistakes made in effort to attempt to improve things, its the lazy not caring mistakes that drive me crazy.

I know I have made more than my fair share of mistakes in my time and I know I will make more.

I sincerely believe good lessons were learned last Friday and it should make things better going forward.

Duane Hancock 6/9/14 8:26 PM

I hope track is identical to what I seen video of last week in the A Main but all night long

illinisprintfan 6/9/14 8:45 PM

I live two hours away and still made it home by midnight Illinois time after staying for the mod feature. Did they mess up? Yes. Did they apologize? Yes. Did they fix it? Yes. Were the sprints and mods A features great? YES!! No complaints from me. The battle between Casey and Chase was awesome.

Are carry-ins (beer) still allowed?

Panama 6/10/14 10:49 PM

Yes, coolers and all the important ingredients are allowed! Just no glass bottles.

And if you run out they sell beer too.

For those that can't listen to Hoosier Country 105.1 FM here in Bloomington, Bruce Leer (one of the speedways owning partners) went on the radio this past Thursday morning and issued a sincere apology from the heart to the fans the drivers and the crews, for last weeks lenghty delay in getting the program underway, due to excessive watering. He stated that everyone involved with the speedway would be making a 100% effort to insure that we do not have a repeat of those conditions. He said, "it was unacceptable".

Now, even though we have heard from many of the drivers and the fans, the track was great when it came time for the features, but the delay in getting to that point just didn't cut it.
We will always do our absolute best to provide the racers and the fans with the best possible racing surface, but we are all human, and remember it is a dirt/clay surface, however last week mistakes were made and there have been measures put in place to hopefully prevent that from happening in the future.

On behalf of Bloomington Speedway Management, Employee's, and Volunteers THANK YOU and we hope to see you tonight!

Last week the pack vehicle did a Bigfoot impersonation on the front stretch guard rail and a sign. With a full moon tonight, who knows what could happen!:18::D

The benefit of forgetting to cancel a half days vacation is getting to make a rare trip down to Bloomington!! Haven't been here since the NST race due to a normally busy schedule. Hoping to get TSS or Paragon checked off the list this year as well.

Couple thoughts after a 2+ hr drive. Living less than 30 mins from Kokomo spoils me (Tipton) so let me say any and all of you fans that consistently travel, especially the out of staters, are awesome!!

Lastly, I love living in this state and all the options we have when it comes to my favorite sport. I swear picking a favorite track is like trying to pick which Swedish Bikini model is hotter... ;)

Hot laps for sprints rolling!!!
