Are their four other classes running along with the sprints as your web schedule shows or is it just the stockers? Thank you.

Anybody have any ideas what the fields going to look like besides Cottle and Short running for the title? Just trying to make my plans for Saturday, hadn't made the Paragon drive in a year or two so figured this was as good a race as any to attend. Thanks

HARFprez 5/31/14 9:08 AM

The final KISS race at Paragon usually draws a large car count and with $2500.00 to win, just guessing, 40 (plus or minus) fire breathing sprint cars. Will be a big night with the Ford's.

Lawrenceburg isn't running this week. USAC has nothing scheduled. Sprints aren't running with POWRI tonight, like they did last night. Everything is lined up nicely for a big field there. Traditionally, Stanbrough, Windom, Cottle, Short, Ballou, Bland and Briscoe are guys you would expect to see show up there for this race.

Darland is heading to paragon..I believe stanbrough is as well..they should have a huge car count tonight.

Any updates? Thanks!

Here's an update; running first heat, lots of yellows, track is junk. Going in, I knew there wasn't going to be a big cushion, I get that, but this is pretty bad. The track is definitely not race-able. Dave Darland is huggypole-ing tonight, if that tells you the track conditions. Cottle just won the first heat. Not complaining, just telling it like it is.

Did Dave transfer please? Thank you!

wildman92 5/31/14 8:30 PM

I'm not there tonight but someone does a great job posting updates on Ballou's twitter page

@robertballou81: Worlds longest heat race finally over - Cottle wins heat 1 over barrow Scott darland

@robertballou81: Bub Cummings wins heat 2 over Harris Heck Windom

@robertballou81: Brady short wins heat 3 over Ballou Br. Cummings Meseraull

@robertballou81: Stanbrough wins heat 4 over Bland Brad Cummings Phillips

RacinBabe 5/31/14 8:47 PM

The last heat was definitely the best one. The track isn't good...i asked the same thing about it being worked and the answer I got was don't count on it! Hey Jen, the good news is there's no stool in the flag stand tonight!!! :5:

RacinBabe 5/31/14 8:53 PM

The bombers just finished their heat races. As I look around the track, I think there might be a slight possibility that it's dustier here than at Eldora...:18:

Motormasher 5/31/14 8:56 PM

7 Cars at Flora....1 heat. Aric Gentry Bracket Moore Leohr Schmidt Humphrey Thomas 16 car I don't know was the finish. Track is nice here.

That is his wife. When you can stop by and say thanks. And get a great empty pockets t- shirt. Thanks madman motersports for all the things you and your team do for us race fans!!!! Go madman!!!!

BigWheel7 5/31/14 10:51 PM

Stanborough had the entire field spanked in the feature. He had a front stretch lead on Ballou and Shane (Shawn as the announcer called him) Cottle at 2 and 3 then those two had a front stretch lead on Bland and Short for most of the race.

Wasn't too impressed tonight with the track but those guys made a hell of a change to their cars to even get half throttle to them.

No rework of the track and only one B main and that was the sprints.

No one is talking about EP and Throttle being the 2014 KISS Champions . Congrats to Shane, Tony and Mille and the team. Well deserved. Bet if it was someone other than them winning, this board would be lighting up on congratulations.

boomer 6/1/14 1:06 AM

We did the double!! PVille & paragon. Two features & 1 b main. Great job jon stanbrough & shane cottle. Thanks to angle buildings for getting us from point a to point b to point c &back to point a.

Re: Paragon Speedway KISS

Complain complain complain. Paragon is Paragon, it's a paper clip track and not a bowl like Bloomington or LPS. Its pattern is dusty at first then it burns off. It's the same track for everyone, 2 drag strips with curves at the ends. It was a good race tonight, there WAS passing and a couple big checks were handed out. Shane get a cool Champions helmet to add to his collection. Nobody wants to see the exact same thing at every track they go to, so accept the fact that Paragon is a racers track, the Ford's run a tight show, all done by a decent hour. I'm glad i went, and i'll be back next Saturday night for a FREE HARF night, and i'll enjoy being at the races.

Done that a couple times with Terre Haute and Puttnamville myself. Complete show at THAT and then B's and features at LPS.

Congrats to Tony Gary and Shane you guys did a great job!!!!!

I agree, track was like it always is. Knew that going in.. Congrats to Shane and the whole Epperson crew. To whoever thinks a KISS championship doesn't mean anything, ask Stanbrough or any of the other past champions that come and run this series every year how much it means. Well worth the trip from Kokomo to see Shane win.

SPD 37 6/1/14 8:36 AM

Good job to Tony, Millie, and the rest of the 2E team!!

I have no complaints. Things went about like I expected. In my car headed home by 10:30. You could pass, but you had to work at it. Sterrett passed a bunch of cars in the B. Congrats to Shaun and his crew on the championship.

Since you are seeking the positive side of the KISS at PISS event; I am thankful that the front stretch track worker wasn't seriously injured during the first heat fiasco. 20 yellow flag laps, and an attempt to realign a COMPLETE RESTART with the track worker choosing to go to the middle of the track and pointing his arms out to the left and right to split the cars. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID! One of the boys at the back of the line up was milling about in the middle of the track and missed the track worker by a few inches. Scary. Providing a track worker with a fluorescent yellow shirt won't make him invincible. Common sense will help keep him safe.
