I'm glad the weather is looking great, especially for all of you driving a few hours to get to the track. I'll struggle with my 10 mile trip but will give it my all.

This is sort of off topic, but does anybody know if Dakota Jackson has shirts for sell this year? I would like to get one for my daughter at TSS or THAT this weekend.

I know most people don't really care but don't expect very many Mods. There is a 5000$ to win at the newly reopened Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway.

Nice to see a track reopen! Would be nice if they would schedule a sprint car race; believe they have run WoO races there before. I believe I attended an open wheel race of some sort there a few years ago.

Yeah it's a really nice facility. Very high banked 3/8. I saw a woo race there a few years before they closed. I'll just say my jaw was in my lap because they went so fast.

rclaridge 4/24/14 5:41 PM

Saturday's forecast looks perfect for racing..78° and sunny!!

KLMS is a great facility. Unfortunately it has been shuttered for about 4 years now. They are trying to run a weekly show there with a new promoter. Late Models and Modifieds are the top classes and I think they will find it very difficult to make this work. A special events track with Late Models, Modifieds, Traditional Sprints, Midgets, Winged Sprints...................might work. They also have an 11:00 PM curfew so they are limited on time as well.

I believe Ron that Sam Stockon ran a traditional sprint car show there back in like 2004 or so. You probably hit that one.

Re: USAC at TSS

I saw the Outlaws there back in the late 90's. That is a beautiful facility but always seemed to have a hard time really getting it going and sustaining momentum.

There's also a big show at brownstown Saturday night, but should be plenty of sprinters. Can't wait got seats reserved in section a second row up against aisle, stop by and say hey.

I'll make Bloomington and Haubstadt, but working 3rd shift kind of messes up Sunday night races.

You local folks, where are some pretty good places to eat around Haubstadt?
We have been to Sandy's and the Haub House quite a few times, and the Gerst Haus in Evansville is cool.

The last time I enquired about where to get a tenderloin in the Indy area a guy steered me to a place that had them about the size of a garbage can lid. So I have had good advice on here.

If anyone has some time to kill before or will be staying around Evansville after the races stop by KC'S Timeout Lounge and grill. They are the new primary sponsor on our car this year and I would greatly appreciate any racers or fans showing their support.

Thanks
Chet Williams

rclaridge 4/25/14 4:27 PM

Sitting at the track now the weather is perfect and Tommy and crew are making final preparations for tomorrow nights race, 5,000 to win and 500 to start why would you go anywhere else!

It's a beautiful race day, race fans! And the best racers anywhere are going to be duking it out at one of the best race tracks in the country! I don't know about you, but I've been looking forward to this one ever since they added it to the schedule and I can't wait to see race cars on the track for this event.

:) Sure is great to be going back down to TSS after a long winter. Really looking forward to seeing familiar faces, and some darn good racing. Hope there is a big car count, and thank goodness for this gorgeous weather. It doesn't look too good for THAT tomorrow evening, but this one is gonna be a dandy. I can't wait. Will be worth the 100 mile drive. Run 'em.
