no way out 40
Can not wait for the no way out 40 just want to see what racing teams and racing fans will be coming out to see who will take home the 7500. We wish the best for all the racing teams and fans for a great 2014 season.
|
Re: no way out 40
I cant wait either so Im watching racing with fenders tonight
|
Re: no way out 40
after being there last week they have changed the track a bit. they have banked it a little more so the cars aren't running off the track as much on the front and back chute. track got a little choppy but was expected for first night on it.
|
Went to the Ice breaker last night. Track was rough in 3 and 4. The mods had all 4 off the ground coming off of 4. The heats were locked down choo choo on the bottom. They watered before the B and the track got 2 grooves going early but was choo choo on the bottom again after half way.

Re: no way out 40
Meeting some friends around the Allentown, PA area on Friday at 8pm to head to Brownstown. Looking forward to making my first visit at the place!
|
Re: no way out 40
I watched the race there the weekend before the Ice Breaker and the track had really deep grooves in turn 1 and 3. They had to go through and grade the track before the mains were ran. Then the late models created it again. :3:
I can't wait to see the sprints run on it and see how it is. I've never been to Brownstown with sprints running. |

Re: no way out 40
This is our first trip to Brownstown so a couple quick questions, a good hotel to spend the night, is the program run in a timely manner, are coolers allowed, how is the seating & parking, their food dept.? Thanks in advance.
|
Re: no way out 40
Cooler policy and "official hotel" are listed on the Brownstown speedway site (14" coolers, no glass. Fairfield Inn in Seymour has "racer's rates"). Seating is fairgrounds "quaint"; covered main grandstand with some sightline obstructions, typical bleachers on either side of main stands. I haven't been for a couple of years but I don't recall the concessions being anything special (i.e. no Kokomo porkchop sandwich or T.H.A.T. ribeye)...
|
Re: no way out 40
Several motels/hotels in Seymore a few miles east of Brownstown. Parking is a fairgrounds. Get there early you'll be close to the stands but may have to wait to get out. Parking near the turn four bleachers will get you out quicker.
Food. One line, two registers, Burgers, dogs, Chicken strips and fries. OK, nothing exceptional but its a race track, Remember a couple vendor trailers selling some other things just outside the gate. Restrooms up above turn one behind grandstands. Don't know if they'll open the turn four restroom or not. Covered grandstand has some obstructed vision with the supports but theres plenty of bleachers in one and just west of grandstand. The turn four bleachers are nice kind of along the push off lane, Long walk to restroom from there. You pay as you pull in the fairground, Put your armband on and its free roaming except for pits. Coolers are allowed, Not sure about beer. Don't think they sell it so probably OK. don't remember anyone checking. Most gates are unmanned as I said, You pay as you enter the grounds, Not the track, Track gates (Several) are open. |
Sunday day race would be great looking at the weather, although it is still early in the week

Re: no way out 40
50% chance of rain for Thurs., Fri., and Sat. Is there a raindate?
|
I for one hope the forecasts change BC what I am seeing is absolute junk for Thursday on..but there is still plenty of time for it to change to the good although I'm ready for warmer weather with a little more dry conditions this winter has sucked and I like snow lol..
|
Re: no way out 40
Weather Underground says high of 48 low of 30 and 100% chance of rain. Still 4 days out but not looking real promising.
|
Re: no way out 40
I've never trusted Weather Underground after they screwed me three times with favorable forcast.
Accuweather for Seymore is the same as Cincy Weather for Sat Plus, minus a degree or two Weather This Weekend, Mar 28 Next Weekend > Friday Mar 28 A couple of t-storms; warmer 61° Lo 41° RealFeel® 63° / Lo 30° more Saturday Mar 29 Partly sunny and cooler 55° Lo 32° RealFeel® 54° / Lo 29° more That being said, A Louisville Station is predicting chance of AM T storm. Partly cloudy with a high of 48* for saturday |
Re: no way out 40
Weather isn't looking good. Hopefully they move it to Sunday.
|
With a high of 60 and sunny Sunday, and a high of 41 with a 75% chance of rain/snow Saturday, it seems like a no brainer to shoot for Sunday.
|
Re: no way out 40
We are planning on racing and it's an 8 hour round trip so I'm hoping they give some guidance, either way, early on Saturday. Obviously we'll keep a close eye on the radar, temperatures, etc. Looking forward to getting the season started.
|
Re: no way out 40
Hopefully they post something by Friday late afternoon / evening as to what they are doing. Would suck to make the 20 hour round trip drive for nothing. And I highly doubt any of the people I am going with (myself included) could make it if it's postponed to sunday.
|
Re: no way out 40
Yup, by Friday afternoon they'll have a hour by hour forecast for saturday and the track/promoter can possibly make a decision then.
I still have a couple pair of hand warmers from last fall I need to use :) |
Re: no way out 40
For all who are coming with a long drive... This is southern Indiana. The weather may disappoint you...:47:
|
Re: no way out 40
I still hope the forecast changes..i have heard that Saturday is a tricky forecast..if the low goes south it may not produce any weather but chilly..and if it goes north it could be warmer and wetter..its really any body's call at this point..i am just hoping for the best..But i would hope they would make a decision early just to give everyone a heads up to what they may or may not do.

Re: no way out 40
Sunday Looks great,Start late afternoon everyone is out of there early and on there way home at a decent time
|
Re: no way out 40
I saw a comment on Brownstown Speedways facebook page that there is no raindate for the race..so if its not ran on Saturday it will not be rescheduled..I just dont understand not having a raindate for March/April races..the weather is so un predictable this time of year..although I doubt there would be a suitable date to move it to with most tracks getting going in the next few weeks including usac at the burg/mscs at pville next saturday..Hopefully this weather changes soon or we will all be cooped up a lot longer than we want to and it seems after the winter we have all experienced def have the racing bug a lot more lol..still hoping the forecast changes!

Re: no way out 40
40.00$ pit pass for a track that don't have a rain date seems a little odd.
|
Re: no way out 40
I am staying home for this one. Too iffy to make the 20 hour round trip drive. See you guys at Kokomo in two weeks
|
Re: no way out 40
im staying hopeful. looked like brownstown got very little rain last night. its showing rain will be done before noon and temps to stay in the 40s till 11pm on saturday.
|
As much as hate to do it I'm gonna skip this one also, if seen a lot of races and I'll see many more and I'm getting to old to sit in the cold!! Hope they get the race in and its a great safe race.
