Darryl and Daytona
Everytime Waltrip says we're watching the best race car drivers in the world another big pile-up takes place. Now Mikey's blowin' off how great the leaders are. Owensboro, Ky. became a nice, quiet town once those two blowhards got out of town.

Re: Darryl and Daytona
Every time I hear DW talk about Danica I think I upchuck a little. Man he don't shut up about her! I wonder why he didn't point out that she hit that outside wall so hard because she let go of the steering wheel after the first hit:11;!

Re: Darryl and Daytona
So who won the race? Someone was saying Jimmie Johnson won earlier this evening. :5:
The more I watch the Daytona 500 the more I wish the real racing season starts. |
Re: Darryl and Daytona
Congratulations to Junior. From what I saw Harvick caused the big wreck that took out Danica and others and also the wreck at the end. If they were driving Indy cars there isn't a fence in the world that would've kept cars out of the grandstand so it's a good thing they got fenders.

Re: Darryl and Daytona
Auston Dillon is another hit and run driver as far as I can tell.

Re: Darryl and Daytona
I refuse to watch NASCAR races that FOX televises. Doofuss Darrell & Larry McDumb Azz have ruined any race for me that they announce.:15: And that idiot brother of Darrell's is still there even though he is the leader of the biggest cheaters in NASCAR.:7: Trying to fix the chase and yet they still have Mikie there. Go figure.

Yes, that was terrible. My point is that cars would be flying into the stands on a regular basis if these NASCAR guys were driving open-wheel cars and that these "best drivers in the world" wreck all the time. Even Gordon said after the race that drivers were nuts after the rain delay.

Did anyone else notice FOX segment on Jimmy Johnson before the race? Listed athletes from many sports and number of championships. Several race drivers including Mario Andretti with 4 championships. So I guess Foyt's seven national championships don't count.

The 20 hour after a Napcar race is up:deadhorse:

Re: Darryl and Daytona
I just kinda assume that all commentators are given a loose script of sorts by NASCAR that spells out the things that they are to talk about. AND things that are NOT to talk about. I wonder if they have any freedom at all in that respect.

Re: Darryl and Daytona
Ok its cold and snowing so I will kill sometime on this post. The question I have is this Why does Richard Petty need a car from Tony to race Ms. go daddy. Does he not own a race team. What does Ford and all of the people who work at "Petty Racing" think of this? So does he think his team is a second class team (has junk stuff) or is he just a name they use and has no real say at Petty racing. He cant use any of his own cars to race her. Yes I know this will never happen. Just a different spin on this story

I dont know how Mike Joy puts up with it. I bet Hammond and Meyers are glad they're not in the same booth with them. |

On lap 5 when they caught up and were drafting by he said " there was no doubt in my mind they would catch them"! I would have had a lot of respect for a comment about boy was I wrong vs just making noise!! Unlike most of you I actually liked the Fox crew at 1st, I enjoyed their enthusiasm and passion for a sport, but now, to get my NASCAR nap in I have to turn off the volume!!:deadhorse:

Mike Joy said that "rookie Reed Sorenson is involved" when Larson got spun at the end....they are rubbing off on him too.

Re: Darryl and Daytona
For those of you complaining about the race and the drivers why did you turn it on in the first place, you could have watched reruns of Petticoat Junction.
For me it's all about racing weather it's go-karts, sprints or Nascar. |
