Re: Chris Bell out of #83
I was just looking over the All Stars schedule the other day thinking about hitting a show or two. It crossed my mind that he may not be with this team by the time speedweeks rolls around. Seemed like an odd pairing to begin with. This is just my outside opinion.
I will admit that a USAC driver crossing over to wings is enough for me to hit an All Stars race if it's enroute to another race. I've always been a fan of racers who aren't afraid to try out different types of cars. |
Re: Chris Bell out of #83
As far as I know he was a wing "guy" before he ran usac.....

Re: Chris Bell out of #83
Seems like a 360 wing guy, if I remember correctly, of course I may not be correct.

Re: Chris Bell out of #83
Two seasons ago he was racing the Rick Ferkle car weekly at Attica and Fremont (with a wing).

Re: Chris Bell out of #83
Maybe he only needed that ride for Florida. Something better must have come along.:D

Too bad. They had what looked like a miserable time at Volusia. Couldn't punch their way out of a wet paper bag (or B Main). In the meantime, to rub a lot of salt in the wounds, Tim Shaffer was running like a man possessed in the 45 car that they just put together for the Dirt Car Nationals.
I am sure Christopher Bell will land back on his feet. He has a lot of talent and his whole future is ahead of him. He'll find his niche sooner or later. |
Chris Bell out of #83??.....

More than anything, Bell came from the micro sprint ranks in Oklahoma. He a had a successful short stint in midgets before getting the Ferkel ride. Everyone knows the rest.

When not driving for Kunz, Bell will dribe the Baytown Ford #31b and the Fox 53 some as well as other rides he may choose to take, Young man is going places. Enjoy him on dirt while you can.

Regardless of whos fault it was that they couldn't get out of their own way (I do have an opinion thats similar to some posts above) I am very glad he was smart enough to cut bait as soon as he did... this is a sport that judges you on what you did last weekend way more than what you did last year. Doesn't take too many bad nights before a drivers stock price starts dropping, and it doesn't take many bad nights before a driver starts to question his own ability and starts trying to do something different than what gave them their success in the past. Once you start searching it gets harder and harder to find your comfy spot again.
