In addition to buying products and services from these companies, let them know you came there specifically because they support racing. You can do that by either telling them in person (management personnel) or dropping them a line either through e-mail, social media or the old fashioned way of writing them a letter. They need to hear that there sponsorship dollars are being used wisely. The best way is for them to hear it from paying customers.

Our fire dept purchased a dispatch system called fire text response because we were in the market and noticed they were sponsoring bill roses cars, our loyalty to those who support racing goes beyond your normal products used in our sport, we love outsiders products too

Re: How do you give back to sprint car sponsors??

Last year I needed some supplies in Kokomo and asked Jerry Spencer where to go. He sent me to one of his sponsors so we went there, purchased several items, and made sure they knew why we came. This year I went to his sponsor for food several times and again made sure each time that the manager knew why. I sent an email to the PR person for Mean Green twice now to tell them that I have started using their product because they sponsor the Hoffmans. Both times I received a response. If I need flowers in Indiana, I know I will call Jockish Flowers, because they have sponsored Steve and Carla for years.

The problem is knowing who sponsors racing. There have to be hundreds of small sponsors of sprint cars in Indiana, but the only way to know who they are is to go to all the cars in the pits and write down the sponsors. Most of the time this doesn't work either, because an out-of-state fan like me has no idea where they are located. It would be so helpful if teams could provide a written list of their sponsors and where they are located, with web site if possible. Better still would be for someone (not mentioning any names, Bill) to provide a place for teams to list their sponsors so fans would be able to look up sponsors when they are traveling. I believe this would work for fans who live in Indiana also. After all, wouldn't you be willing to shop somewhere if you found out that they helped sponsor a car? Another idea is for tracks to collect sponsorship data for all of their regular teams at the first of the year and make that information available to the fans. In theory, the more happy sponsors, the more teams, the more fans. Seems to me that would ultimately be in a track's best interest. However it is done, there needs to be a way to let more people know who sponsors racing so those sponsors are rewarded. Just my opinion. I would be very interested in hearing how the IOW community thinks we can give sponsors more business and let them know that it does indeed pay to help racing.

We have a restaurant here in town that sponsors a local Sprint Car, us gearheads meet there once a week to talk. Food is good a waitresses are nice so we enjoy ourselves.:8:
When my LP tank needs filling I go to our sponsor even though I could save money going else where. :44:

I always visit Stoll's Country Inn and thank them for their track and event sponsorships at Tri-State Speedway.
In my opinion the buffet there is awesome.

First off when a sponsor gives a team engines, cars and parts. When the
relationship is over give back what the sponsor gave you! Bad Karma can
be a *****!

Re: How do you give back to sprint car sponsors??

Thanks Jim. I will go there and mention their sponsorship. Somehow I had missed Stoll's sponsorship activities. I'll be sure to mention that the next time I eat there. I suppose this just shows that we need to be sure we get the word out about who provides sponsorships. I would be particularly interested in a good restaurant in one of the cities which hosts Indiana Sprint Week next year which can provide food which is easy to eat in the pits.

Try it with photos. Roy Jackson would always get photos for all of his sponsors. They love it. It just so happens that I have plenty if you need them. But please support your track Photographer.

Back to the top for this. With the season here about to start, we need to support the people who support this sport.

Here in this town, on the southeast side, a new Casey's General Store is going up. It'll be perfect for fans (Mr. Wendell) east of here passing by on their way to Bloomington. I've stopped more than once at the Casey's in Mooresville on my way to LPS. Open 24 hours as I happily discovered on my way back one early morning.

This snowy afternoon I was reading some USAC PR. Tracy Hines was featured. One of his sponsors is Carolina Nuts. They can be found at various stores, according to the website. We plan to be in North Carolina for most all of March (missing the Jesse Hockett memorial :). But I found that among the places where these nuts are sold, two of them are here in Columbus while one other is at Ingles' Supermarkets. Yes, there is an Ingles near where we'll be. And yes, I'll make a note to thank the folks at Carolina Nuts for sponsoring Mr. Hines.

Since I don't live in Indiana I am not able to support most local sponsors. I did however make a purchase from Midwest Shades a few weeks back and thanked them for supporting sprint car racing and Chad. They immediately responded and thanked me for buying their product. Had high words for Chad and all that he does for them. Really good folkes over there.

As a sponsor, it is nice to know when a customer comes to us because they seen our logo on a car. We try hard to track our sponsorship dollars through things like Google Analitics but it is hard sometimes to determine the direct effect that our sponsorship has. Any input is welcome and it has an effect. We sponsor because we love the sport and it is a way to give back but also were in business and sponsorship is a marketing tool. When we know our marketing is working it encourages us to continue and enlarge that marketing. Anytime you can let a sponsor know that you have seen there logo is a very positive thing for that sponsor and our sport.
