Remember this quite well! My friend, the late David Lynch, called and told me that Earlene and I were in this photo. That is us on the top row, and I appear to be reacting to the crash. That looks like Indy1808 to my right.

I believe that is correct. I believe the flagman had chosen to do his job from the infield side of the track that day, for safety reasons. Wise choice!
