Waynesfield

After looking through the members list & not seeing some of the homies on there I'll take it they are headed towards Waynesfield. Quinn, Funk, Etc. I do see Tommy Bahama, DKDorkboy, Double Checkered (Discount) & of course myself but we aren't very far from the field. Motor on Waynesfield !!!

I got home from Little Belleville at 4 am and I have to sleep sometime. I went to Benton Mo. on Friday night for a new track,so I have driven about as much as I want to drive for one weekend.

Re: Waynesfield

Thats probably about what time I would have gotten home from Montpelier last night if I would have stayed. They brought out 4 Mini wedges & 1 dwarf car & had 2 cautions before they even got a lap in. I left & they had 2 features to go. Montpelier needs to get another full size sprint show there like when they had GLOSS. Got home about 15 till 1.

I'm curious. Why I have (discount) next to my name?

Agree with that, and at least 1 or 2 late model shows. They will probably get at least 1 USAC national midget show next year. I just hope they don't follow the example of some other tracks and neglect any class that isn't midgets or sprints.

That's simply hilarious. I'll be sure to do the "Aaron Rodger's Touchdown Dance" tonight.

how about the rain that's on its way?

Sprintcarfanatic 9/29/13 11:51 AM

Re: Waynesfield

What rain ??? It's an absolutely beautiful day to have an afternoon race !!! It'was already supposed to be doing it & the last I heard it was to be done by 3pm. Did it stall & is moving in soon or what, I've not seen any weather updates today.

double checkered 9/29/13 12:02 PM

Re: Waynesfield

I'm west of Fort Wayne traveling east. It's misting and roads are damp. Dan Kelly posted on tracks facebook page "No bad weather yet.". I think if it does anything, it will be before hot laps and the track can quickly be worked back in if needed. Overcast sky with very little wind....... Hammer Down. The chance of bad weather drops off after 1 pm. I just Double Checked.

Actually looks like the whole band is falling apart

Will Shunk 9/29/13 12:04 PM

Re: Waynesfield

Raining in a thin band about 40 miles wide from Montpelier, IN to Celina. Moving east at 20 mph. Mostly light rain with a few showers considered moderate to heavy. West of Montpelier the rain cuts off. Should hit WRP about 1 pm and be gone @ 3 pm. Keep the faith! We should get this one in if WRP has 6-7 push trucks to run the track in. See you in a few hours!

double checkered 9/29/13 12:48 PM

Re: Waynesfield

I just drove through the "storm". I'm now east of Fort Wayne. I ran through two spots of actual rain but not even a mile long. A few very small puddles. Back to regular overcast with no more moisture on window heading east on 30. If the track gets any, it probably won't be much. It should be there soon.

Charles Nungester 9/29/13 2:19 PM

Re: Waynesfield

Looking like its a go guys. Mudclodbob says haulers are lined down the street to get in. Radar looks like a few sprinkles here and there, shouldn't hurt that place much.

hey charles, are you there or going ?

No Bob, not going to make it. Probably shouldn't have done the Burg last night due to a cold but I was feeling fine when the racing was going on. Woke up today feeling a lot worse.

Hey Guy's & Gals

I live in Sidney (15 minutes from the track) & the rain has been gone for a few hours.
We got a light shower and that's it. Very overcast but temperature is great.

Should be no problem at all getting the show in unless more weather pops up.

Mother nature put down just enough to help track prep.:6:

Jackslash and TJslideways both are doing updates on Twitter and FB.

Re: Waynesfield

From TJ slideways
Mike miller won heat one, Gurley won heat two. Boespflug flips out of park heat. He is ok. I will send results later. Conditions are tuff. Still raining

TommyBahama 9/29/13 6:33 PM

Bad deal for Chad, poke sitter should've NEVER been on the pole. I've seen some racers realize they're over their head a start the tail, that should've happened there. That's the problem with pill draws, but more a lack of common sense. They're lucky it didn't happen again on the next start.

TommyBahama 9/29/13 6:41 PM

Kudos to Waynesfield and the racers for trying to get this in, I've never been to a race, and I've been going a long time, that started with conditions this raw, constant mist, cool wind and probably in the 50's now. Decent crowd too

double checkered 9/29/13 7:09 PM

Re: Waynesfield

As I stand here in the mist..... I just can't thank all the fans, drivers, crews, families, track workers that have made an effort to get this show in. REEEEEAALLLY has the potential to be something special. If only the weather was more cooperative.

I told some fellas the same thing when that 22jr (McCance) was on the front row of that heat & he ended up hitting the wall in 3 & 4 while Hery was going over someone else's rr in 1 & 2.

If it was me I would definately go to the back if I didn't feel right about it.

Just want to give a " Big Thank You " out to Dan Kelly for a nice warm greeting. It was a pleasure meeting you. My sister Rhonda, girl friend Gail an I had a nice time. Thank You also out to Jack Hewitt for taking time for pics, and autographs. Jeremy and Bridget nice meeting you both. Awesome team up their in the flagstand, nice job. The whole staff at Waynesfield great job. Kenny nice meeting you to, and if anything we can do let us know. May God Bless you and the family. Sorry we didn't get to meet more IOW fans. We were parked in the handicap up next to the gate. We will be back next week for the rain date. Lloyd & Gail

WRP DK 9/30/13 11:33 AM

Thank you Lloyd the pleasure was all mine. It's always nice to meet new people at your track. I'm sorry the weather did not cooperate with us. We gave it our all to attempt to get the show in. We currently have te make up date set for this Friday. With that date we know we will lose fans to Eldora's UMP nationals and cars to gold crown. We are tossing the idea around about moving the race to the 11th. This would allow some of the drivers to come back and t would make a back to back all sprint show with Eldora running one the following night. Just in the talking process right now. As of right now we plan on this Friday the 4th still until otherwise posted. Thank you to every single fan and driver that braved the conditions. We feel very bad and we will make sure everything is in order for the make up event. Please Mother Nature help us out one night.

griffithracing 9/30/13 11:40 AM

Are you doing a complete show? Or just features?

Charles Nungester 9/30/13 11:44 AM

Re: Waynesfield

Don't know if it was announced at the track as the fourth or not. But if so. Id highly suggest not changing it.
You also have BOSS running Fremont on the 5th.

Not my call, Just saying that if it was announced many may not be on the net or find out about a change.

Ill head up friday for my fourth visit to WRP. Let us know!

Re: Waynesfield

All the non wing drivers got there heats in, And tore up a lot of stuff doing it. The heat race transfers cars to A feature should be set. They should run a B main and who is lock in the A Main and can't make it Friday should open more spots to the A out of the B

Re: Waynesfield

Boy if ya was 1 them Like Boesphlug you'd probably want them to reset the whole thing like they did, Clauson also, That was a narrow track with the conditions the way they were & the 1's with horsepower that started in the back couldn't use it. I did see Jac trying it above the groove but to no avail. I can understand both sides though.

Re: Waynesfield

Should not be a complete restart of the night. Some have already raced in . What's going happen when one was in already and they don't make it next time? I would get it if no checkers was already waved.
