Paul Hazen injured
Word is that Paul Hazen broke his ankle yesterday while working on his trailer. This will take 6 to 8 weeks to heal and Looks like this will side line the famous # 57 for the remainder of the season. What a great year this team had with 5 wins including Paul's first USAC win in ten years. Take care of yourself Mr Hazen and get healed and rested for your 57th season with # 57 in 2014.

Re: Paul Hazen injured
Sorry to hear this news,it's a shame that the car is going to have to be parked for the rest of the year after the great season Paul and Chad have been having.
Is Chad going to run his own car for the rest of the year? |
Re: Paul Hazen injured
I just left Paul's house and he is doing well. He fell off the top of his trailer replacing plywood. Thankfully, all he broke was his ankle. He actually survived the fall without injury until the piece of plywood landed on his ankle. I guess it pays to be able to out work a lot of people half his age. His injuries could have been much worse. Paul will have a metal plate put in tomorrow and a tendon repaired. Please keep Paul in your thoughts and if you wish to post a message here, his family will make sure that he gets it. He will need something to do for the next 6-8 weeks. Working on the race car is out of the question.

Re: Paul Hazen injured
We were at a party for the Bill lipkey hall of fame induction tonight when Josh got a call from Paul, of course no matter what your doing when Paul calls Josh answers.
Without going into detail Paul will have surgury in a couple days due to some rather common problems at his age and the nature of the break he has to hold off. He is out for the year but looks forward to the 2014 season. Jerry #66j |
