Just out if curiosity would anyone be interested in being a lap sponsor for an even like this one? The lap money could be awarded as bonus money. Just as a starting point lets say $20 a lap???? Let me know I there is any interest?

Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
Only two weeks away. We hope this event is well supported and if it is we will return with it next season bigger than this season. Weare also looking at adding a second all sprint show in 2014...that's two of them at the same track in the same season...WOW!
At this event Jack Hewitt will also be on hand and he will be giving a ride away to one lucky fan to start the a-main in the non wing class. |
Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
Gail an I are looking forward to our 1st trip to the track. Our plans are getting in on Saturday afternoon. Hopefully find a Covered Bridge or 2 an taking some pics of them. Perfer registered bridges. Getting a Motel, an hopefully a place to eat with a buffet. Gail is hoping to meet Jack Hewitt. We look forward to meeting new folks from IOW and seeing some we have met. Any help on bridges, Motels, an places to eat are helpful. Thanks, Lloyd

Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
There are no covered bridges in the general area that I know of. Golden Corral is on the other side of Lima & thats the only buffet place in town ( Someone correct me if I'm wrong ). Howard Johnson's in Lima is fan friendly, Thier number is 419 - 222 - 0004.

Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
Contact. Keith Wendel by PM. Itsanonwingthing he knows where all the Covered Bridges are. Don't know about western Ohio but Eastern In has a few.

Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
Old Barn Out Back has a buffet. Pretty neat place. And Lima has Kewpee Burgers where the Wendy's Dave Thomas got his idea or Lee's Chicken that was started by one of KFC's orginal chefs. Sorry I can't help with covered bridges. I hope you have a great time. I look forward to seeing you there.

There is a covered bridge probably 10 miles from the track. It is located just south of Indian Lake. Very close to Buds Marine.
|
Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
I do have the counties that have Covered Bridges on a website. Plus Mills, Old Barns etc. So I know which bridges are registered. If ya can tell me the county in which the bridge is located just south of the track it will help. Thanks again every1 for your help. Just something to pass a little time while in town. Look forward to meeting ya all. Lloyd

Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!

Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
I forgot about the Old Barn Outback, Been along time since I've been there.
Lloyd, dkdorkboy & some others usually get there fairly early & do some tailgating. They put up 1 of them little canopy's & it will be on the right side of the drive on the way up to pay. |
There's a nice covered bridge in Sidney, which is in Shelby County. The bridge is in one of the prettiest public parks I've ever seen and the fall colors should be amazing, the parks name is Tawawa Park. There may be info on the city of Sidney website. Pick up some fried chicken and go have a picnic, done this with the family many times, you'll enjoy it. Lots of walking trails and water in the park.

Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
Like to see posts of folks new to Waynesfield coming in for a race. This should be a great show. Hope many fans come out to support it. Let's see - I'd like to order a partly cloudy day, 68 degrees, 0 percent chance of rain, nice breeze out of the north, 30 360s, 40+ non-wingers, 25+ mini sprints!! Can't wait!! :) Besides, the Steelers stink this year, so who needs football on Sundays?!!
|
Ill take your weather forecast for sure!
|
Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
Can we push the wind out of the west instead? I think we all will appreciate it.......
|
So what all drivers have you heard of that is coming to this event?

Glad to have you aboard Chad. look forward to seeing you there and good luck.

One week from today the 1st annual Harvest Of Sprints will kick off at WRP. This event will be a great one that will just put the icing on the cake to all the other local tracks races. There will be no other competing races in the area so the car counts should be nice. If this event is well attended by the fans we promise to grow it in a big way next season. We hope to see you there.

Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
If the weather cooperates, I look forward to both the Fall Finals @ Gas City on Friday and the Harvest of Sprints @ WRP on Sunday. With the sun setting earlier, both tracks should hold their moisture and provide great conditions for non wing sprint car racing at its best. Can't wait for next weekend!
|
I'll second that Will

Only a few more days away. Our staff is pumped up for a great show. We have received several rumblings of some out of state drivers coming in. We wish you the best if luck and safe travels. This will be a nice double header weekend in conjunction with the show going on at the Burg. See you all at WRP Sunday.

Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
All systems are a go and everything is in place for the inaugural Harvest Of Sprints.
We will have something new at WRP for this race and that's slow charcoal cooked wings along with burgers. Along with the exciting racing action in store and some USAC guys making the trip over to WRP we are stoked about this event and we are Ready To Get It On!!! Come join us. |
Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
Been watching & will watch the weather the next couple of days & they haven't said anything other than pm, Hope ya don't have to have the grounds crew ready to tarp the place. I'm looking forward to it. Motor on Waynesfield.

Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
Just read that scattered showers could move in Sunday morning and out by mid afternoon. Why is it this 2013 season, the only rain we have shows up on race days in Indiana and Ohio. Its been a tough year for rainouts. Sure hope this race @ WRP gets in on Sunday!

Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
Skinny Kenny Poling's home was engulfed in flames Wednesday. No injuries but a lot of property loss.
http://www.limaohio.com/news/local_n...a4bcf6878.html Does anyone at Waynesfield Raceway Park know of a place to contribute money and support to Kenny and Joanne? Thanks, Will Shunk |
Re: Waynesfield in action on SUNDAY Sept. 29th!
yes I posted some info on our Facebook page. you can email me at kellyracing31@yahoo.com and I will give you more specifics. If you haven't already please go like our Facebook page just search for Waynesfield Raceway Park. I am heading up a racing shirt deal where I would like drivers and fans to donate some race shirts to their family since they all love racing so much. Sizes are all adult: Medium, Large and XL. They have three children. Thanks in advance for your help.
