Re: Bloomington Speedway FRIDAY AUGUST 9, 2013
Obviously we are keeping a close eye on the weather, and we will do our best to make a "go or no go" call as soon tomorrow as possible.
But I can tell you, if we do not get more rain tomorrow, we should be good to go. We do need a little sunshine tomorrow! |

Re: Bloomington Speedway FRIDAY AUGUST 9, 2013
Jordan Kinser and Jon Stanbrough made up the front row for the Sprint Car main. It took three attempts to complete one lap, but Stanbrough led Kinser to complete the first lap. The caution flew on lap two for Jake Simmons who spun in turn four. The top three cars of Stanbrough, Kinser, and Brady Short began to pull away from the field when racing resumed. Caution number four flew on lap four for Levi Shields who had stopped in turn one. When racing resumed, Stanbrough pulled out to a half straight lead over Kinser in second. Kinser would then lose second to Short on lap nine. The leaders began to close in on lapped traffic midway through the event. This allowed Short to close in on Stanbrough. At halfway it was Stanbrough, Short, Kinser, Nick Bilbee, and Danny Holtsclaw. The lead duo ran side by side until Short took the lead coming down the backstraight on lap 14. Stanbrough then took to the highside, trying to pin Short to the bottom in lapped traffic. Short cleared two lapped cars and put some distance between he and Stanbrough with just six laps to go. With five to go, Short held a three car length lead over Stanbrough, with three lapped cars ahead of them. Short cleared all of the lapped cars, as behind them, Bilbee moved to third, around Kinser. Stanbrough tried using the highside, closing in fast as the white flag flew. Short was able to hold off Stanbrough by a car length. Kinser got back around Bilbee for third, with Danny Holtsclaw completing the top five.
