Dont know what website you are looking at, the 2 I looked at range from 40-70% chance of rain tomorrow.

bmemmer 8/2/13 12:09 PM

Ya tomorrow morning. Suppose to be gone by 1pm plenty time to get the track in prime shape going to even get chilly tomorrow night. Cant wait been way to long with 2 rainouts in a row

70% in the AM 40% afternoon and evening is what I saw but hey go for it you never know

Al Pierce 8/2/13 1:12 PM

Whatever the weather I hope they can make an early call. Already logged two 250 mile trips for rain outs. Maybe the weather guessers will be wrong.

Bob I'm no meterologist just repeating what I read from the real meterologists. Take it with as many grains of salt as you wish. Personally it doesnt make a bit of difference to me, after GC tonight I am taking my wife on a short trip to pay her back for all the weekends I go to the races.

I guess you didnt hate it that much. Its much easier to predict 24 hours later

wildman92 8/3/13 9:56 AM

That's why you shouldn't even bother to check the weather til the day of. Too unpredictable to get all excited about the weather forecast days before an event. Have fun tonight!!

Earlene and I ate there last night. We go there every other Friday during the off season. With all the rain we've had this year, the off season got extended. Bloomington wasn't running last night, so we took advantage of the down time. I visit a lot of restaurants around the area in doing my reviews for the Evansville Courier-Press, but Haub House has long been near the top of my favorites. First heard of this place when they sponsored Tommy Helfich's stock car in 1970. Don't remember if Haub's sponsored Tommy after that or not. I believe he ran the number 70 on his car the first season he ran, but changed it to #71 after that and ran that number until he retired from driving. Tommy was quite a shoe in the late models, and I remember seeing him climb in a sprint car a time or two.
Dined at another Gibson County eatery on Thursday. My assignment took us to The Farmer's Daughter Bakery and Cafe at 125 W Broadway in Princeton. Haven't written the review yet, but we were favorably impressed. But, I would recommend you go when you have plenty of time to sit and enjoy the experience. Fast food it ain't!

Jim,

Seems that I remember Tommy having a dark blue Chevelle; don't remember a '57 Chevy. The Chevelle appeared to be the square 1965 style. I remember he was sponsored by Lewis Motors in Daylight for a long time.

It's race day! The temps are just right. The rain has left the area. There's $5000 on the line, at one of the best tracks in the country. And there are a lot of hungry drivers that'll be there to try to take home the top prize. I love my hour and a half drive to this place, on days like this!

I think Sarah and I will take the Ultra out to dinner tonight then maybe a long ride, work Sunday so not much time to go out to dinner Sunday or we may take the time to go to HalfMoon and then a long ride.
Back to Gas City next Friday night so this weekend we will spend eating dinner and riding around on the H.D.
