I wonder if anyone called him an "a**hole"?

Apparently his teammate isn't the only a$$hole on the track.

I understand he took the blame. Watching the replay I am not convinced it was his fault. The outside pole car drifts up the track, Smoke stays tucked in to car to his inside. Outside pole car seems to come back across track.

I agree completely...I also think that if someone feels the need to lay blame somewhere that blame should be placed on the whole "double file restarts" in open wheel racing crap. Sprintcars are exciting enough without manufacturing fake excitement.

she is home resting and tweeted that people should stop blaming tony, it was a racing deal and not his fault.
pretty cool to hear that from a young female racer that just got busted up.

Sadly it's the NASCARization of MotorSports.

I find it comical how so many open wheel people go after Tony sometimes. Not just here but on other message boards too. There aren't too many people in the history of sprint car and midget racing that have been as good and giving to the sport as he has. The guy may have a loud mouth sometimes. Chalk it up to passion. At least when he know he screws up, he admits it. I agree with the others. You watch the video I'm not so sure he is totally to blame.

I don't see how you could blame on any one person. Tony was in the middle. When a crash like that starts it is mostly from one of the guys on the inside or outside that moves into the middle person. Thats my .02 anyway.

When a track is as slick, and dusty as Canandaigua is... it's hard to get on the brakes and come to a complete stop when you're already up to full speed....

Re: Tony Takes Blame For BIG ONE at Canandaigua

Sorry, but the comment on the video about Tony having deep pockets, and should fix the cars torn up is stupid! I wonder when Tony was racing that level and below if another racer had more money than Tony, if they paid for the damage to his race car, when involved in a race insident! So If a nascar team has more money than another should they have to pay for damage to that teams car when in a wreck? I am sure Tony feels bad, although it looked like a non intentional thing. Every racer goes out knowing they could tear up their equipment at anytime!
Just MY opinion!!!

tony is to blame (or not) as much as Steve was to blame (or not) for Eldora.
