Traffic
Can anyone tell me how it is going through Indy, coming from Ohio by I69 to I465 then I70 through downtown.
My son came through there on Sat. Morning and said they had lanes shut down at 70 and 65 |
Re: Traffic
If they have lanes shut down at 70 and 65,just do what the locals do,and take the Ohio St exit at the split. It runs parallel with 70/65 and comes back out on 70 on the west side.
If there is a sign before the Brazil exit saying traffic stopped ahead, then by all means get off at the Brazil exit, and take 40 to 41. |
Re: Traffic
You would be better to get off of I-70 at Plainfield and get on US 40 in Plainfield and take it to 41/3rd st in Terre Haute go south to the fairgrounds I-70 between Indy & Terre Haute has traffic issues daily avoid it if poss.

Re: Traffic
They had 70 in downtown shut down to 1 lane beginning at 65 split and ending at about Harding street exit. It wasn't too bad and might have taken 5-10 extra minutes last Saturday.

Re: Traffic
Get off 70 as soon as possible, once you pass the airport.Going through Indy isn't bad at all, but as everyone said, once west of Indy it's terrible.

Thanks to all, see you at TH

Re: Traffic
Would you think I could make of from the airport to Putnamville in an hour tomorrow after 3:00 by using 70 ?

Re: Traffic
You'd do better taking 40; LPS is right off of 40 in Putnamville.
Google Maps says it's 39 minutes from IND to LPS via I-70, 45 minutes via US 40; I'd venture to say that 40 would be quicker at 3 in the afternoon... |

I went to Indy this morning and came back a few minutes ago. I-70 East Terre Haute to Indy was no problem. Slowed down to probably 55 in the little bit of one lane there is between TH and Brazil exit. Coming back, there was a little it more as far as lane restrictions go. There's one from just past the Cloverdale exit to the Putnamville exit that slows you down the most. Around 20 mph for the mile up to the Putnamville exit, but you're back up to two lanes when you come back up out of that valley. There's another one bewteen Brazil exit and exit 11, the first Terre Haute exit (Hwy 46), but that one's no big deal. Down to one lane, but you're still going 45-55 mph. And there's no lane restrictions between exit 11 and exit 7 (US 41). Bottom line, I went from the Holt Road exit in Indy to exit 11 in almost exactly an hour. Which isn't bad.
