Re: Kings royal
Im gonna try to go,work permitting..It would be tough to miss the biggest sprint car race in the nation this weekend!! USAC or the OUTLAWS... Easy choice...My money is with the best in the biz at the BIG E...
|
Re: Kings royal
I've made the last 6 or so royals but this year weather permitting I'm going usac.... I just feel it will be a better race and cost me less to get in

Re: Kings royal
hmm this is tough USAC at Kokomo or WoO at Eldora, one will be 2-3 wide racing while the other is single file freight train. Hmm wonder what one I will be at. The only good WoO races i see are the ones on 1/4 miles

Re: Kings royal
I enjoyed many Kings Royals over the years until I started racing. My last one was in 93. I'd love to go back as a fan or as a driver. The Outlaws are the best of the best. Always have been always will be!

Pevely is not a 1/4, and the iron man 55 is one amazing sprint car race - coming up Aug 3 I believe
The wing non wing debate is just silly imo. They are both good, just different and everyone is entitled to their preference Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Kings royal
I loved the Outlaws on the Indy Mile too!!

Re: Kings royal
I will be at the Royal and am hoping for a first time winner, maybe Indiana boy Kraig Kinser. Wing v Non Wing is like bacon or ham ...... you cant wrong. Support one of them and we will hash it all out early next week.

Re: Kings royal
Easy choice for me. Eldora Friday night and Kokomo Saturday night. I am a fan of Sprint Car racing. Wangs or no wangs, I really don't give a ****. Ive seen horrible wing races and ive seen horrible non-wing races.
Heck, I might even go to the Summernationals race Sunday night at Danville. I like Late Models too! On the bright side, I hate nascar with a passion. |
Re: Kings royal
Two nights at Eldora and then L'Burg Sunday sounds good to me. King's Royal is a happening and not just a race. I people watch and get a lotta laughs. I want to see Steve and Sammy while I can.

Re: Kings royal
Heading to the Kings Royal this year. Last year got sideways at Kokomo, beautiful day, son on my face. Oh yeah, rained out!!!!
|
Re: Kings royal
Gas City Friday, Eldora Saturday. 49 cars, Brian Brown gets his first big win. Hope everyone has a good weekend at the track :8:
|
Re: Kings royal
If I was able to head west this weekend, I would do Eldora Friday and Kokomo Saturday. Missing a non-winged race at Kokomo is just plain stupid.
|
Thanks to our wonderful government I can't afford to go anywhere so be thankful you are at a dirt track and be happy cause this guy would be happy at any race well dirt race that is

Re: Kings royal
I like going to the 4 Crown Nationals better than the Kings Royal, get a taste of everything the open wheel world has to offer in the two days. Can't go wrong with any hardly any of the plans I've read though! :8:
|
usac, usac, usac! I think the kings royal should be a wing-ed race on even # years and a non-wing race on odd # years, how bout that?
Posted via Mobile Device |
Do the same with sprintweek. Winged one year, non-winged the next. Or just throw in a winged race for one or two of the seven events. I'm sure that will be a very popular idea on this forum.

yeah, I guess they could have one isw show on an off night at eldora

I am heading out in a hour.... heading out to the Kings Royal this weekend....have a great weekend and be thankful we have the opportunity to go to the Kings Royal OR Indiana Sprintweek... we are all blessed to have this option! ENJOY IT!

Re: Kings royal
Going to the Big E to watch the best sprint car racing in the country. I can watch non wing sprints races on any given weekend.
|
Re: Kings royal
I am 1000 miles away but if I had my choice it's Kokomo all the way. I have never seen a bad race at Kokomo and I was at the Kings Royal where every car in the starting lineup blew a tire except for Jason Sides and his tire blew when he crossed the finish line. My one and only Kings Royal.

Re: Kings royal
Getting ready to roll in an hour. That is roll to Gas City for Sprint Week.

Re: Kings royal
45 WoO cars last night for the Knight Before the KR. 37 NRA cars. Plenty of seats available. I was in Turn 1 & 2 and the grandstands there were maybe 1/4 full, if that.
They ran the water right out of the track half way during WoO quals. The guys on the back half had no chance for quick time. After all quals (WoO and NRA), they re-did the track. The 8:00 p.m. start time was now an 8:50 start time. Pretty much one groove all night long. It started low and went up to the top and the track rubbered over. Lots of dust. I wished they had taken more time to put down more water in between heats but no dice. The best action was in the Features when the leaders caught lapped traffic and had to pick a different lane. Hopefully it will be better tonight. Amazes me that in a state where it has rained for a week straight, the track will not hold water. Same as Limaland the night before. |

Sweet and Madsen had a good battle for the lead.Larson coming from 24th to 7th with no cautions was something to see.Liked to have seen Larson start up a little further. With a few cautions and the double file restarts I think he would have challenged for the win.
