Hearsay
I heard that Coleman had a situation at the Gas City race tonite. Anyone know what happened yet.
|
Heard he went into chad Boespflug's pits and started a fight, punching an older man in the face and bloodying his nose. The cops were there.

Re: Hearsay
Either one of you guys witness this, or just spreadin stuff around just because?:15:

I witnessed it. He came to the 57 pit so that should get him banned from gas city by gas city. And he should be banned from usac as well. IMO. None the less it was a punk ass move. He lost a fan!

His actions are unacceptable

I like watching coleman. He is a gasser but this isn't the first time he tried fighting someone. I remember two years ago during sprint week he tried starting two other fights. Didn't he throw a steering wheel also some other time?! Hope he gets it figured out soon.

I dont mind the fighting as much as I mind who he is supposed to have hit, an elderly gentelman thats just cheap. I really hope it wasent Paul Hazen that got hit, I'v known Paul for 20 plus years and never knew anybody that wanted to hit him or would hit him just awful no matter who it was

Re: Hearsay
two north Vernon boys going at it you gotta love it

The fight started with Colman and chad it was broke up. The old guy got between them and Colman punched him and took him to the ground. Colman punched him at least 6-10 times and got up and started kicking him in the head. My guess is the looked 60+ (was not Paul). He was taken away in the back of the ambulance.

Leave the fighting for the fender cars. When I go to a sprint car race, I don't go to watch a boxing match. I go to watch racing. This is a common trend lately and it needs to stop.
Would it be acceptable if, say, you angered someone on the road and they followed you until you stopped, and once you got out...just started throwing haymakers? Posted via Mobile Device |

If Colman did this to the oldman, Colman is a very lucky man to still be walking. Most old men don't fight anymore. They just shoot. Posted via Mobile Device |

And the ones that don't shoot will probably sue. Payback is expensive. Honest Dad himself:6::6: |
Re: Hearsay
I would probably say the older man will probably fill out a battery a report and sign it the it will be turned in to the local prosecutor for a warrant to be issued for colemans arrest. I would also say that Gas City Speedway will ban him from future races and USAC may suspend him for his actions. Just will have to let time tell what happens. Did hear the police were looking for him...:47:

Street stock feature was interrupted with a red thrown so 2 ambulances could get to pits to deal with this. Coleman went to the Hazen pit and was only was having words with Chad when the older man told Coleman to get out of their pit - not 100% sure but people were saying the older man was Chads grandpa. Coleman just turned around and laid into him. Some guys pulled him off the older man and then chad got some licks in. The cops were looking for Coleman but I believe he had already left. As for USAC they put Ballou on probation for green flag racing they deemed was "avoidable contact" let Levi off for the same thing so who knows how they'll handle this. Last year they just sat Cottle down for the night when he had a scuffle with tmez but that was driver on driver - not driver on fan.......

What happened on track to lead up to this?

I have nothing to add as far as what happened last night but will say Coleman seems like a great stand up guy and been a fan of chad for a long time
I have no problem with two drivers confronting each other, if everything else happened as is said here I'm sure there was some lapse in judgement. My problem here is everyone is jumping off and making this a legal issue... if that happens it just makes the situation worse for everyone. I would much rather just receive a sucker punch in the nose then get punched press charges and have to deal with all the legal ramifications of pressing charges in such an altercation. If things are how they are said here Coleman probably owes an apology and I'm sure he is man enough to have that conversation. If no one was hurt, there is no point to involve the legal system the only people that benefit from that are lawyers. Furthermore there is no point to calling someone out on a message board, if you really have a problem with someone have the testicular fortitude to confront them face to face. Going back and forth on a message board just makes everyone look bad I have no dog in this fight just have a strong disdain for the way these things sometimes play out - pete smith Posted via Mobile Device |
Hope everyone quits bickering soon before there's more fights. Its race day guys! Smile. What happen has happened. Nothing we can do or say can change anything. I will say one thing that hasn't been said much. I hope the gentleman who got involved is okay. A foot to the head sounds like it could hurt.

Re: Hearsay
All you keyboard jockeys having a good ole fashioned pissing match and still NO BODY has been able to say why this whole thing started in the first place. What happened on the race track to provoke Coleman to go down to the 57 pit to begin with?

Ridiculous!
It wasn't one punch, nor did he stop at a punch, but kicking once he's on the ground. This man had every right to voice his opinion. Coleman chose to go to his pits. Unless Coleman was hit first by him, then he didn't deserve to by assaulted...period. I wasn't there, so I'm just going on what I've read. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Hearsay
What ever happened to race track etiquite. When I was growing up, you were taught never to go into someone else pits when you were mad. Nothing good ever comes from this. If CG did go to the other person's pits, he is in the wrong. Period.
I once raced a track where someone went into somebody's else pits in a fit of rage. He tried to jump the other driver, but instead was jumped by the entire crew of other driver. He got beat up pretty bad before the fight was broken up. The driver who went to the other persons pits went to the promoter and complained that he got beat up when he went to the other persons pits. The promoter listened to his complaint, and asked him if he was the one that went into the other person's pits. When he said yes, the promoter then suspended him for a week for going into the other person's pits. When the person asked about the pit crew that beat him up, the promoter said that they were in their pits and that he was not going to punish them since they were in thier pits. |
Any updates on the old man injured? Was it serious?

here is the video thanks to brandonT30 Ice man had no good reason to go into chads pit, unless it was to apologize for running into him. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Hearsay
I don't know Coleman but he has a lot of talent one of the hardest things to control in life is human emotion some people can handle stress better than others. I wish we all knew why Colman blew up there are always two sides to the story was anything said to Coleman to provoke his angry. Either way I"ve always been taught not to hit my elders I hope he can calm down though this attitidue won't get him anywhere.

Maybe my college education isn't enough, but I can't figure out why CG would be mad at chad and go down to start trouble with him. I've watched the video a couple times and CG cut down across the 57. the 57 held his line on the bottom, its 100% CG's fault. What am I missing? Lol
