Kokomo
How is the weather looking for this weekend . Don't want to leave Florida for a rain out
|
Re: Kokomo
supposed to be dry but 50's and 60's
|
Re: Kokomo
Storms are supposed to move out of the area by Thursday morning with cloudy & 50s Thursday. Sunny Friday, Sat, & Sunday 50s and high 60s. I do not think rain will be a problem for this race. Make sure you take some time to look around Kokomo when the races are over.
If you stop in at HalfMoon (U.S. 31 South next to Lowes) tell them you are from the race track and that Josh sent you. Chris is the owner operator. colescotts Mobile One is at the corner of 31 and center road just east of 31 for all your oil needs. And do not forget the Woodys stores for ice and all your race track needs. North and Phyllips & Dixon and Sycamore. Jerry #66j stida.com/ HalfMoon |

Wouldn't surprise me,or upset me,if the Friday night show was moved to the sunny,Sunday afternoon. But Iam coming either way. :)

Re: Kokomo
I don't want anybody blaming the weekend temps on me just cause we are coming from Wisconsin. :5: I see it's about 79 right now, then about 49 Friday night :19:

Re: Kokomo
I, for one, am glad that heat wave will be over by Friday. I'd rather have it 50 than 80.
|
Can't wait til Friday. Been off work for six weeks due to back surgery so this week has been rough, but with Friday getting closer I find myself feeling better and better! Lol.

Re: Kokomo
i love midget racing and i've really been looking forward to this w/e, but i'm afraid i'm going to have to pass what with the winter-like weather forcasted/ sure would like to see them bump the racing up to sunday, or even some other weekend (should they opt to do this, we'll need start times and info in advance in order to get there in time, should it be afternoon start times)

Re: Kokomo
So far the weather has been right on the forcasted track that being said this thing is supposed to be out of here Thursday morning. The rain we have had will not stop the racing this weekend. Unless we get a flood or something overnight there should be no problem getting things in, something else to remember is last year the latest we got out of the track was ten or a little after most of the time it was nine thirty and the sprint cars were loaded up and rolling down the highway. The Kokomo Speedway will not drag things out to sell hot dogs so you can be assured they will get things in and over in a timely manner. As far as running on Sunday I hope that they do not have to so the people that wanted to make it three days of racing can do as planned. If Josh had a midget ride we would be the first one in line, thats how confident I am that they get this thing in.

Re: Kokomo
Lucky the race is not in my neck of woods We got dumped on for the last few hours. I had one pond in my backyard now I have about 5 and 2 acres of water in front. Most water that i had standing since the flood 3 years ago. And that was a 100 year flood as they called it. Stated raining again hope Kokomo not getting this much.

Re: Kokomo
So far my RG says 1 1/3 inches. Live next door to the track. Judson rd is starting to pond up pretty good now. As I just got in. Looks like one more good storm to pass through the night. Then that may be it.

Re: Kokomo
I took a little nap before I went in last night and when I woke up the rain had been here and done the damage, I got on my bike took off for work and almost layed her down at the corner. It had rained so hard the worms had covered the street so thick it was like ice.
At 1:55 am we had a tornado warning but all that came from it was a ton of rain and a great light show. As of now it is misting and cloudy, the ride home was a treat as a lot of the streets in Kokomo are flooded due to the large amount of rain. As far as I know there was no damage from the deal so I guess we were luckey. As far as the speedway moving things back a day they made a very good decision. J.M.O. I also like the idea of doing it early enough to give everybody a chance to make other plans, getting everybody here knowing they may not get it in and costing everybody an extra night would not have been a good deal for anybody. I hope you are all safe and did not suffer any damage from mother nature. Now get ready to enjoy Kokomo this weekend. Jerry #66j stida.com/HalfMoon |
