The Montpelier Motor Speedway would like to thank all Midget teams, drivers, and midget fans for their support of the opening double header at the speedway. The Midget features were excellent both nights, and the car count was a very respectable 26 on Friday and 28 on Saturday.

We have 8 remaining Midget shows left at the Montpelier Motor Speedway for the 2013 season:

April 20, Saturday
May 4, Saturday
May 18, Saturday
July 27, Saturday
August 17, Saturday
September 7, Saturday
September 14, Saturday
September 28, Saturday – 2013 Track Championship Night

General Admission for the programs that feature the Midgets are just $10. Fans and teams - please mark your calendars and make plans to support the Midget class throughout the 2013 season.

Official Results, Pictures, and Links to various media coverage of the races can be found on our website:

We had a very enjoyable weekend watching the midgets at Montpelier. Both nights were action packed. A great entertainment value for just $10. The other classes also put on a good show. Thanks to all who were responsible for making this show happen. I hope you are able to build on this and make it an annual affair. Looking forward to seeing more midget shows this year as well.

Anyone know who was the highest finishing mini sprint both nights?

PatrickMead#13 4/11/13 10:21 AM

I think there were only 2 of us with Mini Sprints. I believe Tyler Ransbottom in the #44 made the A main both nights. I didn't fare so well breaking a right front shock Friday and a rock became wedged under the throttle pedal Saturday night in the b main. It was a great time and very humbling experience for the little guy like me and I felt privileged to get to go up against some of the best teams and drivers in the country. Thank you to everyone involved with this great event!!!

There were only 2 wingless Minis entered each night. Tyler Ransbottom was the highest finishing Mini.

On the first night, he started 20th in the A Main and finished a very respectable 13th.

On the 2nd night, he raced his way from the back of the B Main up to the last transfer stop where mechanical issues ended his progress. I believe I heard he had a piece of mud stuck in the throttle.

I'm working on doing my part to up the Mini Sprint count, but little "issues" keep cropping up; if everything goes perfectly I'll be there for the 20th. More likely ol' 97 will get her first laps in on May 5th.
It seemed like the pre-season buzz was pointing towards several Mini Sprints running this year; is everybody in the same shape as me? If so, hopefully the end is sight...
