Wind Tunnel

:7:This half hour format sux.

Tonight Dave spent 10 minutes talking NAPCAR when the Speed Report just spent 98% of it's hour time on NAPCAR. Then they cut Tony Shumacher interview off right in the middle of it. How sad is that.

This used to be the best race related show on the tube. The only one really worth watching. Not anymore. :24:

Agreed. He is one of the best out there.

You guys may have tried this before. If the producers or Dave have an email address try sending them one and see what happens. Then again it might be because since they show more and more of the Nascar stuff people have tuned them out and ratings have dropped in which they have or are cutting it to a 1/2 hr show. Hard to say. But if one or both have an email post it and see what kind of response you get.

The most important racing news, though, is did they give an update on Danica at Phoenix throughout the weekend and show her wreck? That's what is REALLY important.

I don't think Speed Channel is even attempting to care anymore. Speed Channel ceases to exist in August. Wind Tunnel will most likely not be around anymore either.

I still have an interview taped with Dave and "The King" Steve Kinser. I think it might've been after he got #500 on the WoO Tour. They need more Sprint Car drivers on there, but maybe I am a little biased.

Pretty obvious Speed is phasing things out. According to the guide, their Nascar wrap-up show is only 30 minutes too. WT was the only show on Speed that actually covered other forms of racing. Speed News (or whatever they call it now) is 3/4 Cup talk with the same story being told over and over. Unless you like fenders (or Pimp My Ride, Pinks, or infomercials), Speed won't be a real loss.

To send your complaints the e-mail address is reception@speed.com. I talked to the receptionist, and then sent an e-mail about my concerns that all we get is NASCAR, NASCAR, NASCAR and no grass roots race coverage. Thirty minutes is not long enough for a show that is supposed to involve the viewers. BTW, Robin Miller and James Hinchcliffe host next week.
The only other show on Speed that I care about is "My Classic Car". I always find it entertaining and informative.

FOX Announces Fox Sports 1 Launch on Aug. 17, Will Feature Live UFC Fights

FOX announced on Tuesday that Fox Sports 1 will be launching on Aug. 17, and will feature live UFC fights.

FOX network made the announcement during a press conference that Fox Sports 1, converted from Speed TV, will be in 90 million homes. The company has rights to college basketball and football, NASCAR, soccer and UFC.

The network is set to rival ESPN in sports coverage and Sports Center with FOX Sports Live, a nightly sports news segment at 11 p.m. ET.

The Aug. 17 launch will include the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race from Michigan International Speedway and a UFC event in prime time.

FS1 will air 12 UFC “Fight Nights” on Wednesdays from Aug. 17 through the end of 2013. The bouts will air from 8-11 p.m. ET. The network will air a “UFC Tonight” studio show every Wednesday from 7:30-8 p.m. ET, leading into the live fights. It will also air 14 Saturday pay-per-view preliminary cards.

Fox Sports 1 will air international soccer coverage on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and debut a documentary series this fall featuring Mike Tyson as its first subject.

Regis Phibin will also host an original show called “Rush Hour.” It will air daily from 5-6 p.m. ET and feature a panel of guests.

Beginning in 2014, FS1 will broadcast Major League Baseball games.

Mike, if I didn't know any better, I'd have thought you or someone would have made this up as a joke.

Glad to know that the great sportsman Regis Philbin is back on the air.
