Also there is a typo on the sprint car schedule - Sprint Week starts on the 12th and still has a 2 day break

Not sure - if it starts on the 12 then Gas city would be Friday - Kokomo Saturday - burg Sunday - off mon/tues then at terre haute on 16th - I think that was how I understood it anyway

Susquehanna/Williams Grove
Winchester/Port Royal

Some of these dates don't seem to match up. Sprint week for one and the Hoosier Hundred for another. Also, am I to assume there is no Hut 100 this year?

What about Lincoln Park in there as well, that's a great track.

Is it safe to assume that USAC will no longer be the promoters at Dodge City?

I am glad that the Sprint cars are coming back to US36.

Extremely happy that USAC and POWRi have some co-sanctioned races, and that USAC has a show at Angell Park.

Re: 2013 usac

There is no Lincoln Park in PA. Maybe you're thinking about Lincoln Speedway? In Abbottstown, PA. Lincoln is a nice track, but for whatever reason the few wingless sprint races i've seen there, they've hugged the bottom come feature time. Lincoln is a great winged 410 track though.

Good question. I'm certainly disappointed, but not too surprised, to see DCRP missing from both divisions that ran there the past 2 seasons. As has been stated before on this forum, Kansas isn't exactly a hotbed of nonwing racing. Crowd support hasn't been all that good at Dodge City.

Re: 2013 usac

My thoughts on the schedules are this:

The midget schedule is excellent. It will allow for a guy to more than likely run USAC (dirt) and POWRi points in the same year if they choose. The only iffy thing is the move of the Hut 100. Granite City is a great track but Haubstadt was awesome the last couple years. The race will still be a must see. I love the fact that the Gold Crown is co sanctioned as well as a weekend at little belleville!

The Silver Crown Schedule shows that they are trying to move in the right direction. 11 races I believe is one more than last year. The trip to the Belleville Highbanks should make for an awesome race in front of the midget nationals crowd. Looks like no Iowa Speedway this year or Toledo. However the addition of Gateway will be awesome! The move back to methanol will help in my opinion as well.

The sprint car schedule looks similar to last years. I really have nothing to say about it.

Overall it looks like USAC did a great job this year and is starting to listen to the fans.

Both the "HUT100" & the Gold Crown Midget Nationals will be co-sanctioned USAC/POWRi for 2013!

Re: 2013 usac

Disappointed the July $10,000 to-win event at Eldora is not on the schedule. That was a good show last year and was hoping that event would grow, but after seeing the truck race on the previous Wed., I guess it was too much. Other than that, looks like a good sprint schedule, the other two divisions lost my interest five years ago.

DonMoore10 12/6/12 6:44 PM

Re: 2013 usac

The only plus I see about the midget schedule is the two day Kokomo show in April and good luck hitting the weather just right for that. Otherwise, the schedule has gone nowhere for years. It used to be that the midget schedule was separate from the other divisions, that is, a midget race would be scheduled somewhere in the country while a sprint car show would also be held at another venue. For example, they ran a 100 lap midget event on Labor Day in Columbus, Ohio while the champ cars were racing at the same time at DuQuoin. The midgets are odd man out. If the HUT 100 is going to dance around from track to track, I'd rather see it at Kokomo. The new venue is a big track... 100 laps on an engine there? I guess it won't matter for those that get free engines.

I don't remember all of the details, but isn't that one of the things that caused USAC and Belleville nationals to split. Didn't USAC sanction the Silver Crown cars at Iowa against the midget nationals at Beleville?

While I still long for the Hut 100 to return to Terre Haute, I'm thrilled to see it come to Granite City. Much appreciation to Kevin and Tammy Gundaker not only for that, but to see some reconciliation with POWRi is outstanding news to this Midget fan...:9::32:

I saw your car at the Gold Crown. Were you planning an engine change over the weekend? I'm guessing that the cars run over a hundred laps during the weekend. I'm asking because I don't know, not being a smarta**. How many owners would you guess did change an engine?

An engine change? You've got to be kidding. Yes, we were there for THREE race meets that paid $3000 to win the first two nights and $10,000 to win the last night. I think that adds up to $16,000 for first place for three nights. This is a one night event=three nights of racing for a one night purse. I would be glad to race that night.. bring your engine, we'll drop it in the my car, and go racing. Deal?

AMSOIL NATIONAL SPRINT SERIES ANNOUNCES 40-RACE 2013 SCHEDULE

The preliminary 2013 AMSOIL USAC National Sprint Car schedule reflects 40 dates, including the extremely popular “Indiana Sprint Week” and “Eastern Storm” events.

Arizona again hosts a pair of races at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria October 25-26.

Yes Granite City is a lil bigger than Haubstadt. But if you can get 59 cars at Perris on that halfmile, why in the hell won't anybody run the Hut 100 at Terre Haute anymore.
I know, I know....they get 300 cars at Tulsa for $10k and that doesn't make sense either.:15:
Don, your cars are potent enough to run the Hut at GC.....

Finner18 12/6/12 9:40 PM

If I remember correctly, I don't think the 10 car ran enough laps at the Gold Crown to add up to a B-main.
