With Sterrett to the 21x this does make sense.

cshuman 11/21/12 4:15 PM

I've heard some of those strong rumors too, but also heard there could be a return of a team that left not too long ago.. Which could employ 2 of the drivers mentioned.. I know for fact the Stida 22 will sport DRC logos next year ; )

That would be great if it were true - but last time my phone rang it wasn't Paul Hazen.

How much were you drinking at this campfire? :) just kidding Billy. I hadn't heard this one... Kenny hasn't called us. However, Jerry has no Sprint Car ride for next year, and he is actively seeking one!!

Jamie Fredrickson in the Hazen #57
AJ Hopkins in the Foxco #53
Troy Link and Johnny Johnson in the Baldwin #5 and 5x

This leaves Levi Jones, The Stache, DD, Jerry Coons, the bear, and TMEZ with no rides

Re: Word around the campfire

Spencer Racing just bought the winning Power Ball and we will be housing cars for Levi Jones, Stanbrough, DD, Jerry Coons, Windom, and TMEZ. See you all in 2013. Dad, mom, and Sonny are going to be busy getting ready! :6:

This just in, We will also be running another car with the great Kevin Olson going for the another midget title! Still not sure which title because all of the series's have too many rules and are not happy with K.O's seat and helmet choices. :6:

Man my phone rang the other day and I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer it, Guess that left my ride to Troy and Johnny!!! Man that will teach me to not answer my phone.

I think AJ and the fox boys could win a bunch of races. Not so sure about the rest of the list.

Re: Word around the campfire

How do most of these rides work? Are they bought or have sponsors behind them? I know the big names probably get a % of winnings cause they do it for a living.

Would a guy stand a chance at a ride if he had racing experience but brought money to the table?

Just seems odd that the big names arent being mentioned as having rides yet. Nothing against the guys with rides mention, im happy for them.

Re: Word around the campfire

Does anyone know what I'm doing.....cause I don't :)

I am considering putting a car together just to run the USAC Eastern Swing. It will be a "special needs" team and not a ride for everyone but I would be interesed in hearing from interested drivers to discuss this possibility. Looking for an experienced non-wing driver who is capable of running up front. Again, this is not a for sure thing unless the right people can be found to make it happen. If this seems like something you could help put together give me a call Gene Franckowiak

That campfire must have had some wild smoke coming from it plus you must be in the Holiday 'Spirits" early.
However you have generated alot of responses, including mine. How about we put our "Favorite" Media Person in a KK midget to go along with this campfire madness?:3:

Dang, I guess Bubby Jones and Jack Hewitt won't be in Baldwin's cars after all.:7:

younggun398 11/22/12 12:20 AM

Merger of two teams going to be based out of Brownsburg, In. With a large sponsor stepping up to the plate. Cant wait for 2013 season going to be a fun one, starting with the Chili Bowl. Really thankful for the opportunities being presented. Shout out to Big Al, FatFro, and RayPro

treecitytornado 11/22/12 12:50 AM

I think some people took those comments of the guys in those cars seriously lol. To answer one guy's question for real though, many rides require the driver to have talent and sponsorship behind him too. The economy is tough and many local owners can't do it solely on their own.

Left a message last night, I may have dialed the wrong number or you have not checked yet. We will have an open trailer and a car or two when you are not coaching.

Breaking News!!!

I just received an E-Mail from my new best friend, Won Hung Lo, informing me that I have won the Hong Kong Sweepstakes. :8:

I plan to take this unexpected (I don't even remember buying a ticket) windfall and build a 4 car team to compete in all 3 USAC series.

All I have to do is send him my bank information and $20,000 to cover the handling fees and the money will be deposited in my personal checking account.

I can't wait to get started. Driver interviews will begin shortly!!
